I have a question. I'm asking because I don't want another slip-up with these old documents. Mark Harmon will get an email from me as well but while I'm here let me ask my fellow freepers. In the video report, Mark Harmon refers Kerry's after action report and John F. Kerry as "Lt. J.G. Kerry."
Now I know I may not be up on every facet of John Kerry's life but was John F. Kerry ever John G. Kerry back in the day?
Thanks in advance

John Kerry was never a full naval Lt. he was a Ltjg. (junior grade) ^That's one step above ensign.
Did he go to OCS? It would be unusual to be commissioned an officer right after college without something like OCS UNLESS someone H E L P E D push the paperwork through. Doctor's etc, are another matter. I don't recall seeing anything like ROTC or OCS in Kerry's military info. Even OCS requires some enlisted time and a recommendation to OCS.
February 18, 1966 Kerry formally enlists in the U.S. Navy
August 22, 1966 Kerry reports for Naval Officer Candidate School at the U.S. Naval Training Center in Newport, Rhode Island
Correction - Kerry enlisted in the I. S. Naval reserves. He thought his unit would not get called up.
lol point taken...that was off the johnkerry.com website...which proves...kerry lies
