The Republican National Committee suggests that scandal-skewed biographer Kitty Kelley had both partisan and personal reasons for writing a book that supposedly tells the "real" story of the Bush dynasty.
On Monday, Kelley told NBC's "Today" show that she contributes to Republicans as well as Democrats - but the Republican National Committee says it's mostly the latter.
"Kelley forgot to mention she's been a registered Democrat since 1983," the RNC said in a press release.
In the "Today" show interview, Kelley said she votes for both Republicans and Democrats and "used to give money to both." She said she believed her last campaign contribution was to Texas Republican Rep. Kay Bailey Hutchinson.
According to the RNC, Kelley did give $150 to Sen. Hutchison in 1993, but her most recent contributions have been to liberal Democrats, as follows:
Kelley gave $500 to Rep. Louise Slaughter (D-N.Y.) in 2002; $1,000 to Sen. Max Baucus (D-Mont.) in 1996; and $250 to Rep. Jim McDermott (D-Wash) in 1994. All of those contributions were made after she gave the $250 to Sen. Hutchinson, the RNC noted.
The Republican National Committee says Kitty Kelley attended a state dinner in the Clinton White House, after Presidents Reagan and Bush-41 "banned" her from their state dinner guest lists, because of her unflattering biography of former First Lady Nancy Reagan.
The RNC also raises questions about Kelley's credibility, pointing to reports saying that Kelley, who worked as a receptionist for liberal Democrat Sen. Eugene McCarthy, later claimed to have worked as his press secretary.
Who'd a'figured?
"Kitty Kelley's A Registered Democrat"
All those who find this surprising, please raise your hands now.
What is this? To bring the morons up to speed.
NO WAY!!!!!!!!!!
Just throw her pathetic self on the heap of losers along with Michael Moore. She is a piece of trash and fits right in with her ilk.
Uh-oh. I hope this revelation doesn't damage Senator Hutchison.
BUMP!
What other public figures has she written about? Did she do one on Princess Diana?
Nah, I just thought she was a life-long Republican who was "deeply concerned" about the Party's shift to the right under President Bush.
I am shocked, shocked.
O'Reilly's poll dictated that he not have her on his show. His contention is that she also (like CBS) has a myriad of unnamed "sources" - (The Spirit World?)
Her contributions aren't very large. She's not only a liar, she's cheap!
Kitty Kelly is a registered Democrat! Who knew?
Muckraker Kitty Kelley and Nazi propaganist broadcaster Mildred Gillars (aka Axis Sally):
Hairstyles and fashion change but ugly don't rub off when its on the inside.
No snit? It is these kinds of revelations that make we pine for old media.
What a group of loosers! Wow Bagdad Jim McDermott! Max Baucus is a very interesting character as well. She is on the east coast and doles her money out like this? I wonder who she was laundering money for?
I think Kelley looks like Robert Blake's murdered wife.
I was wrong!!! I said after a few weeks Kitty Kelley's book would head into the flushing toilet. It just dropped from number one on Amazon.com to number two after just one full day at the number one spot. My prediction is now that it will hang around for a few days in the top ten and then drop like an anchor just like Maureen Dowd's failed tome and Sy Hersh's fairy tale which is also heading for its own black hole. All the TV interviews in the world will not help these "traitor" Democrat, liberal, low life failures!!!
