I tell my my mother, as much as I love her, Greatest Generation , that she is part of the problem.

Do you not understand that some day YOU will be part of the problem?

My mother lives with me; I'm trying to imagine myself going downstairs and telling her she's part of what's wrong with the government. I respect her too much to do that.

Do you all have NO sense of taking care of the generations and people, even your relatives, that have taken care of you?

Bless you, Howlin. My mother is infirm and I am not close enough to care for her. She does, however, have a large network of my cousins and her brother and sister nearby.

When I was a child, my grandmother lived with us. My mother and her siblings at one time lived with their grandmother. It's a pity that more people either do not or cannot help care for their extended family.
