While the Democrats would do anything they could to make us believe they're the party of the "people," in fact, there's a populist revolution taking place today, and it is conservatives and Republicans who are leading it. No better example of this revolution can be found than in the popular response to the ongoing flap about the possibly forged 1972 and 1973 memos which seem to indicate that George W. Bush was derelict in his Texas Air National Guard duties. After several days of intense scrutiny by bloggers, talk radio hosts, and, somewhat belatedly, mainstream media analysts, it is widely agreed that it's a virtual impossibility that the memos were actually created more than 30 years ago. Rather, there is an extremely high likelihood that they were created very recently and foisted on an eager (if not unsuspecting) Dan Rather/CBS News as legitimate.

Hey, maybe he can help some of us FReepers wean ourselves off of FReepadone.
I guess I am addicted to FR since I spend a lot of computer time on this site. This is where I get all of my news. It is very addictive!
Speaking of FOX News - Did you see Hannity take on that doofus from Kerry's campaign, asking him "how many villages did Kerry burn down" and "how many soldiers to he see commit rape and murder"
I thought the guy was gonna pop a cork (never answered though)
"It is very addictive!"
Don't you know it. My poor wife is a FReep widow!
Yeah. I'm hooked, but don't let the democrats know. They'll be suggesting a kazillion dollar anti-freeper government program for "our own good."
Who cares whether or not the memos are authentic?
Even if they are for real (which I do not believe they are), who gives a rat's ass whether or not George W. Bush showed up for a routine physical exam 38 years ago? He never gave aid & comfort to the enemy. GWB never went before Congress and falsely testified against his fellow officers and enlisted men who were still in combat. GWB didn't hang out with Jane Fonda under the Viet Cong banner.
Anytime you confront a Democrat with facts they backtrack and shuck and jive.
Did you see Hannity and Bill Bennett when they asked Robert Reich to name one Republican who put out false info about Kerry or false statements? Reich could only come up with Zell Miller who as everone knows is a Democrat and even I know Zell was telling the truth because I am an X- Democrat from way back.
Hello, first-time poster here, so if I'm just repeating what's being said elsewhere, just hit me hard once, k?
One way not to get this kind of kamikaze attach would be not to elect the little bottom-dwellers. But, better yet: if FReep does get the news first, fast and right, then it ought to start thinking about being the right-thinking AP/Reuters. Time to not have the left have first dibs on releases and what the blogosphere/mainstream reacts to.
We've got the opinion-set basically nailed. Time to get the hard news originating covered also, IMHO.
He also asked him to name ONE Republican from the RNC that spoke against Kerry's military service, and the guy kept saying Zell Miller! Hannity reminded him Zell was from his own party - a democrat, and asked again. The guy kept saying Zell Miller was "really" a Republican. He couldn't even name one!
Hello Newbie. Welcome to FR.
Welcome to Free Republic :-)
It's more fun to let the big news outlets put out their "scoops", and then embarrass them thoroughly and quickly.
Good point, good point, but OTOH, do you always want to be returning fire?
Some of the folks around here look entirely capable of free-firing. :)
Freepers as "Populists?" Hell no!
Roger that. When someone produces a POW who says he was tortured because of GWB missing a flight physical, I will care. When somebody can tell me how thousands of names added to the Vietnam memorial wall is the fault of GWB missing a flight physical, I'll care. When they show me the tapes he made for Hanoi radio, the medals he threw away, the Air National Guard comrades he falsely accused of war crimes and the Senators he discussed assassinating, then I will care.
Well, I'm a member of the proletariat myself, but I'm just as ticked as the rest of y'all.
And if I recall correctly, Zell had nothing bad to say about Kerry's Vietnam service.
Populists with Pitchforks bump.
