That would be sweet! We get to fire broadsides at the soft underbelly of the mainstream media for every day that Dan Rather remains employed at CBS.
He's the journalist who has broadcast forged memos in an attempt to smear the President of the United States of America. He's got no "originals" of those forged memos. He can't say who was his source. He can't authenticate them, and he can't produce experts who can refute the clear indications of forgery in those docs, either.
So as long as Dan Rather remains employed at CBS, we get to point out that CBS is in violation of its public service requirement for its free public airwaves national broadcast license, that the network is willfully employing a known fraudster, that the network is protecting a proven forger, and that *nothing* else that CBS says can be believed.
Why would we on the Right want this scandal to be ended prematurely by CBS figuring out that they've got to get rid of Dan Rather?!
This is a thing of great beauty! The longer that CBS goes without making the tough decision to send Dan Rather out of the building, the longer we get free shots at the mainstream media's credibility.
I could revel in this scandal alone for months, possibly even years.
...And here's the real kicker: Kerry is going to lose no matter how many mainstream journalists fall on their swords (for him). So Dan's inevitable career crash won't even win them anything. It's not even worthy of journalistic martyrdom. It's just a work accident in the Palestinian way of journalistic suicide bombings.
The AWB Has Expired - Gun Owners Have Won Again For All Americans!
Very nice post!
Why not. He either was screwed by the source, which I would think would release him from his promise of anonymity or his source is so close to him that he's won't burn them ("Hi Daddy! How are you doing little girl")
