Freep this radio station: 99.1 WHFS

As I was listening to Sean Hannity today between the hours of 5pm to 6pm eastern time, during one of Sean's very long commercial breaks, I decided to switch it to FM and listen to some music, however, little did I know what I would be listening to.

The DJ named Tim Virgin announced the MoveOn.org concert "For Change" in Washington D.C. on October 11th(?) and he was really pumping it up saying it would be a huge show, with the lineup and all. I called into the station to complain, and I actually got to talk directly to Virgin. I basically said that I do listen to hfs, but would discontinue to do so if I kept hearing this liberal bias. Virgin shot back saying that they have to promote shows that Ticketmaster tells them to advertise (yeah right!). So he mainly said that whatever Ticketmaster tells them to promote, they promote it. At that point the conversation ended.

Once Virgin was back on the air, he happened to mention that a Conservative caller just called in (that's me!) and "ridiculed" him for what he had said (very untrue) and also mentioned that if Bush had a concert, that they would announce that one as well (as if he needs them). After saying all of this, his DJ cohort Chad Dukes came on and said, "If you want liberal, Bush is a d**shbag, vote for kerry."

Please call the radio station to complain or click on their web site and email them. They deserve a good Freeping. I love free speech, but they way they sounded, it really seemed biased and rude to the President.

I'm not surprised. HFS has long had a liberal bias(no shock there), and at their annual festival concert every year there's activity going on in the 'pit'(the area of the stadium in front of the main stage) that most parents would be shocked at. Women/girls are heckled/abused, told to take off their shirts(many oblige), drugs are used very casually, and there's also lots of randon "moshing", where people run into each other during the loudest/fastest songs. I've also heard HFS air commercials for abortion clinics late at night. So none of this surprises me.

Yeah, but they're just part of a commercial alternative conglomerate. Additionally, while you do hear abortion clinic, and tattoo and piercing, and condom ads, those are all during the syndicated show Love Line, and McLean Bible church actually has an ad on there every night, too.

I don't know if the owners themselves are really liberal...it's just the clueless audience, and most of them won't be voting anyway.

during one of Sean's very long commercial breaks

Boy, you got that right. Sean will promote his later guests, his TV show for that night, et al right before a break. As soon as he starts bragging about who's gonna be on later, I know a break is coming do I switch to oldies on FM. About 5 minutes later I switch back to his station. Most of the time the commercials are over.

I do this same thing with Rush.

Time to change the button that selects WHFS to something else.

Doesn't surprise me. They've been like that since the hippy-dippy era of the early 70's (rivaled only by the defunct WGTB). They hated Nixon too.

WHFS is full of maggots. Ignore them. And HFS has a very small audience.

But if you want to make it a bigger audience, FREEP'EM.

Leave it alone.

Hey, this is all your fault. You brought this on yourself.

You forgot rule number one: "Three hours a day, every day that's all we ask?"

Their website has a link to voter registration and promotes the MTV voter program.

It also is poorly designed with almost no contact information...they don't want to hear from us.

But I did find these two emails:

advertising@whfs.com

webmaster@whfs.com
