Clarification.

Well, it seems in order. I can't remember ever eliciting so many responses to a comment in my life.

First off. I'm not a liberal, far from it. The first presidential election I voted in was in 1984. My ballot was cast for Ronald Reagan. And, I've voted Republican in every election since then.

Secondly, I'm a Navy veteran. I know it's not the stuff of great heroics, but I served on an ammunition ship, the U.S.S. Pyro AE-24, in the gulf in 1988/1989.

Third, I am anything but a John Kerry supporter. Kerry represents everything I hate about politicians. Specifically, the unwillingness to take a stand on anyhting of consequence.

My post was merely an attempt to discuss the political realities on the ground. That the MSM are trying to bury the story and the few outlets that conservatives have don't seem to be rising to the challange.

Believe me, my hat is off to those bloggers that uncovered the forgeries. You not only have my admiration but my gratitiude.

It was the news stories about the blogs that led me to this site. I had thought that I had found a community of like minded individuals. But, it seems as though my initial post was misinterpreted. My apologies.

BTW, I'm not some snot nosed college kid. I'm a 38 year old ex-network engineer who is going back to school to further his education in the hopes of getting into medical research.

The "geneboy" line was trite and vain. Again, my apologies.

Regards

And you did a good job and you were correct with your comments.

There are too many "bandwagon" types here who have their emotion turned up to 100% max and their thinking ability turned down to a lesser level. You saw some of them. Disregard those.

There are many good people here (the majority) who like great discussion, and your point was right on the money.

Well, geneboy, you know what they say... "Birds of a feather, flock together." Some of us here do suffer from a little bit of a heard mentality, but who could blame us?

We're sick and tired of the mis-leading media being total sychophants to the Demonicrat leftists, so we gits kinda touchy and suffer from toleration fatigue most of the time. Specially when it looks like we finally made some headway!!!

Welcome to FR and as a good ol boy conservative talk host on KGO in San Franpsycho always used to say... "Do whatchew can, but behave yourself!" (grin)

GENEBOY: I regret not getting here sooner. After getting PING'ed to this thread a few times, and reading your opening opus, and your follow-up, let me say, "Welcome to Free Republic!"

Needless to say, we are watching newcomers like yourself, but who might not post anything near the reason you used to night.

We have had not a few die on the wire, due to the vigilance of the moderators, and the watchfulness of my brethren, who are reading our words now.

I agree with your opening, partially. But just as FReepers were able to expose the latest Big Lie, we shall not allow it to expire after the passing of a few news cycles. There are many more of us, than there are Leftist journalists, and OUR numbers are growing each day, as evidenced by your joining us.

TO THE VIKING KITTENS: Stand down, My Brothers, for we have a new denizen of honesty here; one of the first of more to come. Let us welcome him to our own Valhalla!

Welcome to FR.
Stand Fast, sit tight.
We're in for a REALLY bumpy ride this election cycle.

But, with luck and skill, the 'turbulence' in posting here during said bumpy ride will be somewhat minimized.

geneboy,

I agree with most of your original post. The fix is in BIG TIME on election 2004 when it comes to the print and network media.

If the attacks were on Clinton from fraudulent documents peddled by FOXNEWS then NBC, ABC, LA Times, Washington Post, NYT, Time Mag and all the other usual suspects would be SCREAMING AT THE TOP OF THEIR LUNGS about: "where did the documents come from", "were the republicans behind it", "it's a crime to slander a sitting president with forgeries."

The response from these MSM outlets over this farce has been anemic.

BUT this isn't over, Dan is winning the fight right now, and he may come out on top... but it's not over yet.

PS - I didn't vote for Bush on 2000(calm down, i didn't vote for Gore either), but i'm so pi$$ed at the way the MSM is whitewashing this mess...
