President Bush's record has at least 13 references to his Air Force status. Here is a recycled post I worked on earlier: New Silver Bullet against DNC smear machine

Great comment from DU:

"It's like we keep getting fed this stuff so that Drudge can make us look like idiots."

After reading through most of this thread, it occurred to me - and probably anyone else who's been in the military - that when you put on your ribbons (and medals for that matter), you don't just go to a misc. box and pull out the ones that look pretty. On the contrary, you know exactly which awards you rate - especially in light of the fact that when you put them on the uniform, they are arrayed in order of their "prominence".

Not to mention the fact that everyone in your unit knows what awards the unit rates.

Bottom line: it's highly unlikely that GW was wearing a ribbon he didn't rate.

Regards,

Anyone think Kerry will still give his speech Wednesday at the National Guard convention?

If so, any current/former Guardsman want to guess how he will be treated.

Well all of this is so insane and outrageous, that I'd have
to guess Kerry is SOOOOOOOO FAR BEHIND in the really-expensive
'daily polls' that the two campaigns take, (and we never see)
that they had to release their scorched-earth
Clinton Slime Machine NOW!

Normally they'd wait until 10 days before the election, but
Kerry will be flat-lined in the polls by then at the rate
he is going.

Kerry better stop payment on the check for the last round of ads. If the advertiser was smart, he cashed it 5 minutes after he got it and got a good laugh.

Can someone say KABOOM to Dan Rather's left wing agenda.

Why is this document, and yes, it appears to be legit, citing (paragraph 41-7a, AFM 35-3) at the bottom?

The democrat press release (April 27, 2004) and Dan Rather's forger (August 1972) claims that AFM 35-12 and AFM 35-13 are the right manual.

Oh. Right.

The forger copied the wrong democratic document wrong.

I'm confused on the dates. Does this plug up any of the holes in the AWOL charge ??

Or does it just refute the charge he was never in the active duty airforce like he claimed ?

Its hard to keep up with...

That FORM 180 the Kerry people don't want to talk about has a third page that tells you where your military records are located.

Air Force stuff is at the top. In pertinent part it includes this under "current status of service member" ~ TO WIT: "Reserve, retired reserve in nonpay status, current National Guard officers not on active duty in the Air Force, or National Guard released from active duty in the Air Force", as well as "Active (including National Guard on active duty in the Air Force), TDRL, or general officers retired with pay".

Apparantly none of the Democratic Party spinmeisters have bothered to check out the way Department of Defense looks at these arrangements before throwing away perfectly good campaign dollars on erroneous material concerning "W"'s status vis a vis the Air Force!

Just sign that FORM 180 John; you'll feel better about it, and you might get some of those smarmy campaign aids to read it before they get in real trouble.

Another nail in the coffin of Kerry's candidacy. When it rains, it pours. Still think bringing your Vietnam "service" to the forefront was a good idea, Johnbo?

Some loser over at DU asked for some way to prove W never got a pilot's license. I answered him & will repost here just in case one of you needs to answer another idiot.

BearCub said to the DU loser:

Sure, go to http://162.58.35.241/aadatabase/login.asp and search for George Bush, DOB 07/06/1946. He holds a commercial pilot's license with single engine, multi-engine and instrument ratings.

You asked...

My God, these guys are grasping at straws...

On active duty you say.

Waiting for the Soviet bombers to arrive....definately a high risk occupation.

As a FReeper posted yesterday:

What was the F102? A nice little fun airplane? No. Then, as now, flying jet fighters was dangerous work (that's spelled d-a-n-g-e-r-o-u-s for you dopey Democrat lurkers).

How dangerous? Go to the Air Force Safety Center to find out. The F102, described by Tom Wolfe in The Right Stuff as a deadly "brick with fins, had a frightening accident rate.

It was more dangerous than any aircraft currently in the US arsenal. More dangerous than the F-15 or the F-16 by a factor of 3 or 4. Of 875 built, 289 crashed or were otherwise destroyed in accidents.

Seventy pilots were killed in training accidents. Are the Kerry Kennel's Press Poodles now going to tell the families of those pilots about their "lack of courage and service?" Is this yet another way for Kerry to smear the service of those in the Armed Forces during Vietnam? .

Bush served the first two years of his ANG commitment in the Air Force. This was not week-end or occasional duty, it was full-time. Somewhere somebody claimed that Bush served as many days in the service as Kerry.

Someone should still check that out. it was very close, at any rate. He definitely served more days than his 2000 opponent, Al Gore.
