Ouch, that's tough to look at. Perfect illustration of Dem spin.

Pretty close. I took Officer Basic, let me see, yes it WAS fall of 1973. We did have Chemical Corps in our class at that time. I'll FreepMail you.

"When they aren't doing Five Mile Runs, they can pick up trash along the highways or, as General Patton said, shovel $#!+ in Louisiana."
Great idea! I might even volunteer to supervise. ;)

You know, I wish we'd waited to point all this stuff out until the Dems had actually put out the ad. It's true that would make the Dems look even worse after being b*tch-slapped.
But you also run the risk that, once the ad is released, some (many?) may not be convinced of the truth that the ad is false (especially if they only listen to MSM).

"Do they really want voters to see how absolutely incompetent the liberals are with respect to the Military?"
Sadly, I do not think they care. We are not their base. In principle, despite the many years since Viet Nam and the universal support of our troops nowadays, they seem to still have an ephemeral hatred of our military . . .

After reading through most of this thread, it occurred to me - and probably anyone else who's been in the military - that when you put on your ribbons (and medals for that matter), you don't just go to a misc. box and pull out the ones that look pretty. On the contrary, you know exactly which awards you rate - especially in light of the fact that when you put them on the uniform, they are arrayed in order of their "prominence".
Not to mention the fact that everyone in your unit knows what awards the unit rates.
Bottom line: it's highly unlikely that GW was wearing a ribbon he didn't rate.

Not only that, BUT:
I'm sure that when he was in the Unit that earned the Unit Citation, all the members of the Unit were told to go out and get that ribbon and put it on their uniform: OTHERWISE THEY WOULD BE CONSIDERED OUT OF UNIFORM.

Anyone think Kerry will still give his speech Wednesday at the National Guard convention?
If so, any current/former Guardsman want to guess how he will be treated.

I agree with you, O'Reilly tries to be all things to all people.
You know what happens when you stand in the middle of the road? You get hit by traffic coming from both ways.

Silly DUers. Bush got his AFOU {Air Force Outstanding Unit} award while in BMTS (I think). I've got one with 4 OLCs (5 awards). Basically, if your unit does a bang up job you got one. Sometimes you did not even know you got one until you went to CBPO to get a medals rip. I know for a fact that at least 2 of my OLCs were under the RADAR and I did not even know I had them until I checked with CBPO. The thing is that this is a
AFOUA You can only get one while on active duty in the
USAF Now-a-days, everything is on the web. vets can check at the virtual MPF. Here is a screen shot to illustrate what the medal looks like (1 is top, 10 is lower right):

>>Last ratings report on Drudge showed O'Reilly had slipped to second behind Hannity.
WELL NO WONDER the big-headed one started sucking up to John
O'Neill recently! It made no sense before now...
But the bloviator DID also call conservatives RIGHT WING EXTREMISTS
very recently, so I don't think he has truly done his penance yet.
