It IS an interesting proposal, but I think it's highly unlikely.

This (AFAIK) has NEVER happened in an American election. Do you think the DNC would even THINK about going for this? Granted, the MSM would go ga-ga, and Fox, Drudge, Rush, Hannity, and every conservative talker out there would blow their collective top. But, can you imagine what the American people would do??? A good part of the nation would be up in arms, and possibly upset enough to "do something about it" (let your imagination run on this one...). We wouldn't stand for it.

Now, please understand, this is NOT an attack against you. It is intriguing, but it smacks just a little of 'tinfoil hat' to me.

Even so, we shall see.....

Just hang on to your hat. Everything ken described fits easily in the law, and more unsettling things have happened. Gerald Ford became President before he was ever on a ballot, because the VP (Agnew) and President (Nixon) resigned under scandal.

I would agree, except that you now have to wonder if New Jersey was the trial run for Democrats, in regards to the viability of the "bait and switch" candidate.

(I'm staring at my tinfoil hat very hard right now)

I have to agree that I don't see this happening this late in the game --- isn't there some sort deadline for applying to get on the ballot? Also, it would gaurantee 100% Republican turnout with a lot of very mad Dems (unless Kerry dies?)!

I earnestly believe the Reps could tie this sort of shady manuever up in the courts for months (again without a untimelt Kerry demise)?

Middle of the road voters would see this for the pathetic sham that it would be --- and the backlash against the Dems would be devastating, (making the CBS forgeries uproar look like they used the wrong fork at dinner)?

I just don't see it working this late in the game?

You really think the American people would be up in arms about this? Most of them could care less, would fall for whatever story the media gave them, and run out to vote for this evil woman! Propaganda is on their side.
