The Iraqi people must get serious. Rat out the terrorists, defend their homes, families, and their future. The few anti-terror protests etc have been good but it's not enough.

The Iraqi people are used to cowering before "strongmen" dictators, and thugs. They have no spine yet. Only the anti-US men have any guts, and they use it to promote a theocratic-dictatorship. As usual, good people sit by quietly, hoping no harm will come to them.

Our military works with the Iraqi government and Iraqi security forces to stabilize Iraq. I'm guessing they recommend the people stay calm and out of the way of their operations until they clean up the bad guys.
The press ignored most of the pro-American rallies after Saddam's capture, as they continue to ignore the majority of Iraqis who support us today.
Imagine being surrounded by enemies, infiltrated by enemies - with your liberators being called "occupiers" and "enemies" by many of the same people who took Saddam's silver and ignored the mass graves.
Over 3 decades of abuse by neighborhood thugs and they are willing to stand up for their own country. Unfortunately, it's seldom reported, and by speaking out, they risk their lives, and their families...still they volunteer for the security services, and in greater numbers after major attacks.
The press will continue to push the lies that the majority of Iraqis 1) don't want us there 2) are helpless 3) support Saddam. They know we'll buy the lies. We usually do.
"The American soldier is trying to protect me from the terrorists and the American president saved me from Saddam's regime. If this is an occupation then I show my deepest respect to it and if such suicide attacks are called resistance then let the resistance go to hell." - Hoshyar Zakhoi-Duhok/Iraq - Liberating Iraq ^ | 09/11/2004 | Patrick McGuinness (Freeper WOSG)

Lol. My spelling's better than my grammar, but I know allies forgive and correct (and if (unintentional) imperfections distract/annoy/provoke the enemy, I count it a plus. *g*)

I really should have gotton on the case of the global media and the anti-war crowd here rather than just the Iraqis.
It is true that despite scores of them being blown to bits they are still signing up for police and military work, etc.
I was saddened today to hear a news report about an Iraqi Catholic family that is leaving after the recent violence against Christians there (church bombings etc). Their daughter's kidnapping was the last straw (they did get her back thankfully).
I wish they wouldn't give in to the Islamofascists, but then again I'm not there and that's not my family.

It is very sad about the Catholic kidnapping - and very rare.
In the first 15 months of war, there wasn't a single attack on Christian churches. A few missionaries, driving without an escort, were tragically killed. It is a war zone.
After the coordinated attacks on churches in Baghdad and Mosul, the clerics rose up against the attackers, and Chaldean Christians and Muslims proclaimed their support for their Christian neighbors, and condemned the attacks by their "mutual enemies".
Appears our Christian brothers and sisters didn't hear that story.
The enemy isn't stupid.
