Presidential candidate John Kerry promised over the weekend that he would "take on the terrorists" who attacked the U.S. on 9/11 by forcing them to obey America's gun control laws.
Kerry said laws like the Assault Weapons Ban, which expires today, were valuable "not just to fight ordinary crime but to take on terrorists." And he complained that President Bush was "making the job of the terrorists easier" by not pushing for a renewal of the sweeping gun control law.
"The 9/11 commission and other reports have shown that al Qaida wanted to come into America, and in the al Qaida manual of terror, they were telling people to go out and buy assault weapons," Kerry told a crowd in Missouri.
The top Democrat did not explain why the Assault Weapons Ban failed to protect America Against the 9/11 attacks, which were executed by al Qaida operatives armed with small knives.
Nor did Kerry say how many terrorists had been arrested and charged with violations under the Assault Weapons Ban.
That pretty well sums it up. I know it was a typo and could be duplicated by a 1970's IBM composer typewriter, but he does seem to be pretty residential as opposed to Presidential.
Kerry is really going to get destroyed if he thinks this will get him more votes. All this is going to do is get out the GOP based vote even more!
Let's take guns out of Kerry hands....that should help people feel safer.
Gun control laws? What about plane control laws? Last time I checked, it is illegal to fly a plane into a building yet this did not seem to stop Atta and Co.
Why won't any talking heads ask Kerry how many bills he introduced to extend the AWB? How does he get away with this crap? Another example of the liberal MSM covering up for their boy.
On 9-11 the terrorists used box cutters.
More proof that Kerry's base is as thin as ice in the late Spring right now.
so kerry is saying he will push to renew the widely UNPOPULAR AWB?
No wonder he is staying away from press conferences. Every time he opens his mouth he looses votes.
Please play that in Pensylvania!
Would you please cite the FAR prohibiting flight into buildings? Or, perhaps more appropriately, where does one apply for an exception to this FAR for movie productions like the 007 flight thru the hangar.
(a) Aircraft operations for the purpose of air navigation. No person may operate an aircraft in a careless or reckless manner so as to endanger the life or property of another.
(b) Aircraft operations other than for the purpose of air navigation. No person may operate an aircraft, other than for the purpose of air navigation, on any part of the surface of an airport used by aircraft for air commerce (including areas used by those aircraft for receiving or discharging persons or cargo), in a careless or reckless manner so as to endanger the life or property of another.
I think that covers operating an aircraft such that it strikes a building...
Now, as far as stunt flying for the movies, it one looks carefully in the frames where the plane is in the hangar, it's mounted on a rail.
What a DORK!
I'm sure the ACLU will get that law rescinded as it hampers free speech.
Hmmm... Now there's a picture for ya... '-)
