Rather is clinging to one hiccup in the hoax charges like a rat on a floating piece of excrement: that the fonting used in the alleged memo was not available in 1972 when in fact it WAS. Big whoop!

People keep ignoring a major point: namely, that in '72 it was pretty unusual for a grown man to know how to type, ESPECIALLY one in a leadership position, for whom there were always secretaries available to do the menial jobs.

Superb Point!!!! That's exactly what feminists were railing about back then: "we get the menial jobs: typing and making coffee -- we demand access to the Executive Washrooms!"

CBS (Complete Bull S%#$)has been beating the anti-Bush drum for a long time. Including Dan Blather who raised money for the Rat party.

I noticed! I was a DoD typist in my wasted youth :-). If an officer wanted to do private notes, he would scribble them in his dreadful handwriting, not try to figure out his secretary's typewriter (if he even knew where the typewriter was located.)

The font existed in 1972, but Rather has not proved it was available on any typewriter. It may only have been used by typesetting machines, if at all.

I'm betting Tuesday, perhaps Wednesday, CBS will have some kind of announcement about this forgery.
"We were duped, scooped and Danny-boy is pooped."
To: Nasty McPhilthy
I don;t want to see Rather leave the scene too soon. I want to see him on election night have to announce President Bush the winner.

RATher is toast
CBS has been and always will be bias. I suspect an announcement will come on some saturday morning between kids cartoon shows, that CBS has error ed. Sort of like a NYT retract buried somewhere between pages 38-43 under the table pads advertisements.
It will be interesting to see how far CBS will go with RATher

The guy in the article has the signature block wrong. It should have been on the left margin and should have read:
Jerry B. Killian, Lt Colonel, TANG
Commander
Signatures blocks for the Air Force would have read, USAF, USAFR (Reserves), or TANG in this instance (name of State with ANG immediately following).
That said -- he was right about the signature block being very wrong.

They may think they can continue to deny it, and the public's attention will shift.

Thanks for the early morning wake-up, and this is my payback. An excellent re-cap of what CBS News is having to deal with.

If dumbocrat Dan does admit these are false, he'll most certainly wait until the day Hurricane Ivan makes landfall.
Any bets on that?

Call your local affiliates and sponsors!
Local affiliates are a good target. They do not like to hear that you are writing a letter for their relicensing file.
I wrote and called a local sponsor - Publix and complained about them sponsoring CBS. I told them I would go to KROGER until they pulled their support of CBS and the local affiliate. I am making sure to copy to the sales manager of my local CBS station(WGNX)all emails written to national and local sponsors.
Do npot let this drop.
