The same thing will happen to Dan as happened to the guy that took all the docs from the National Archive in his pants.

In a few days it will be completely forgotten.

You left the word "Again" out of the headline.

Dan Rather is largely responsible, as Saigon bureau chief, for the American people forming the opinion that the Tet Offensive was a great victory for the Viet Cong/Army of North Vietnam when, in fact, it all but broke their backs. Rather has long been a merchant of fraud and deceit.

I find it interesting that he refuses to address the authenticity of documents he claims are authentic but for which he offers no proof -- because he has none -- and he refuses to explain how CBS (and other MSM outlets) received copies of the documents.

We ought to have people stand outside CBS and whenever he appears shout, "What's the frequency?"

I don't watch CBS, but do they have windows on the set that the public can see/be seen? Like Fox does?

It may seem crazy, but I think this will spell the end for Dan.

The libs may love him, but there are still moderate/undecided voter types who hate this type of dishonesty.

CBS is working from its institutional liberalism.

Walter Cronkite was able to spin the Tet Offensive into a defeat. Rather thought he could do the same thing with these obvious forgeries and have this report be the cornerstone of his "legacy" as the man who turned the Kampaign for Kerry.

Rather is just plain ignorant and this just prooves the left is living in a 9/10 delusion. FR has debunked political BS within hours and with far more reliable references.

Much superior to Rather's near tearful "because I said so."

The most definitive and authoritative typographic refutation here. I sent this link to Drudge last night but he so far hasn't run with it.

Against this, Time magazine has come up with a typewriter repairman to back the MSM's reluctance to accuse Rather of the obvious.

Gads, you'd think that someone with as much experience lying and forging documents as CBS they would have at least tried to do a convincing job.

I guess they had to rush it to broadcast to save us from GWB!

Will Dan Rather Get Away With It This Time?

That can NOT be allowed to happen!!

If the rest of the MSM does not hold him and CBS accountable then someone HAS to.

I would have thought the major news media would realize that they need to scrupulously maintain at least the appearance of objectivity and fairness, since, rationally, there's always the possibility the side they don't support may win. Payback can be a bitch.

Now that CBS has been exposed as a party to fraud of the most serious kind, this is becoming a death struggle. It is fascinating to watch I will say.

Jammie Nation

http://www.melaniesemporium.com/curious%20george%20pajamas.jpgI'm with Amy and N.Z. Bear. Jammies now! I want a pair, yo.

"Bloggers have no checks and balances . . . [it's] a guy sitting in his living room in his pajamas." -- Jonathan Klein

This is, of course, far too delicious a statement to simply ignore. Already, bloggers have taken it up as a badge of honor.

Welcome to Jammie Nation, where Dan Rather gets his ass kicked by guys in pajamas.

Via Instapundit, "NO DISPUTING IT -- Blogs Are Major Players." Viva la revolucion. Left, Right, Center. Who cares? We don't need you anymore, Mr. Rather. We can do for ourselves just fine now, thank you.

Yes he will get away with it as will CBS and 60 Minutes. While the main stream media smells blood in the water right now, they will not push this. Doing so would be to their own detriment.

How can the other alphabet networks justify going after one of their own for doing exactly the same thing they do. We all know the networks flat out lie about most Republican positions. Everything from false statistics on economic news, to the number of homeless and poor in the country to ridiculous charges on the end of the assult weapon ban. To go after one of their own for making false claims, makes them vunerable.

The only problem is the 34567 thing which is the legit P.O. Box.
Rather would say, "See! See! That proves you're lying and the memos are genuine!"
