Caught In The Act Of Not Being AWOL!

Caught In The Act Of Not Being AWOL!

The Decatur Daily (Alabama) published an interview this morning with former Air Force Sgt. James Copeland, who insists that he saw George W. Bush doing his required drills at Dannelly Air National Guard Base in Montgomery, AL during the period CBS and Democrats claim he was AWOL:

Copeland, who lives in Hartselle, retired from the Air Force on Jan. 31, 1980. He was the disbursement accounting supervisor, a full-time position, for Dannelly Air National Guard Base in Montgomery from Oct. 28, 1971, to Oct. 27, 1975. His office was less than 100 yards from the hangar where Bush performed drills.

Rumors say Bush went AWOL while assisting Winton "Red" Blount in an unsuccessful campaign for U.S. Senate focus on 1972 and 1973.

Copeland, 65, remembers meeting Bush on two occasions. He does not remember the precise dates. On one occasion, Copeland said, Bush and Lt. Col. John "Bill" Calhoun came to Copeland's office with a question about Bush's pay. Copeland is not sure, but he believes the question had to do with where to mail Bush's checks.

Copeland also backs up previous AANG witness Lt. Col. John Calhoun, who earlier this year verified Bush's service in Alabama:

Copeland stressed that Calhoun's account of Bush's service in Montgomery would be accurate because Calhoun was in a position to work with Bush during every drill. Calhoun told The Associated Press last week that he saw Bush every drill time, which was one weekend each month.

Not only was Calhoun in a position to know of Bush's service, Copeland said, but Calhoun "was an ethical and honest officer."

And the Decatur Daily, in a demonstration of actual investigative journalism that the spoiled brats at CBS could only envy, actually looked around for witnesses at the Winton Blount campaign to see if Bush missed any campaign events because of his National Guard duties. Bingo!

Joe Holcombe, 71, of Joppa worked with Bush on the Blount campaign. He told THE DAILY last week that he remembers Bush missing at least one campaign meeting because of his National Guard drills.

Perhaps when the story of the 2004 campaign is written for history, the only one noted as the loser will be the candidate who didn't get into the White House. However, those of us who lived through it will recall that the biggest losers of all were the mainstream media outlets who rabidly pursued their partisan agendas, chasing after unsourced myths and promoting obvious forgeries to support their agenda, while ignoring over 250 combat veterans who went on record and supplied evidence regarding the malfeasance of their preferred candidate.

I'd call it Bonfire of the Vanities is the name hadn't already been taken. Perhaps we'll just call it The Year Of The Fallen Masks. (Hat tip: Amelia.)

Tucker Carlson, of the lipstick and rouge, is not much of a conservative. He's gotten a new show on PBS--proof of his perfidy.

Bush and Rove must be laughing their posteriors off over this. Here are the dims focused on trying to find out how many NG drills Bush might have missed 32 years ago instead. It is as though they have completely forgotten that they are supposed to be running an election campaign.

And Kerry thinks he can run the war in Iraq.

Forged memo issue---Not a peep about that. He showed some journalistic solidarity at the end of the program but I think it was more of a swipe at Zell than a boost for Dan. Saying we owe our democracy to the media.

They will probably require DNA samples proving that Bush was there. That would be the only thing that would convince those American-hating socialists. Eyewitness accounts don't prove anything because, after all, anyone that backs up President Bush is a right-wing Republican operative. Unfortunately, this man won't see any of the money promised.

TIME
If I could get back to politics

KERRY
I don't talk politics.

TIME
What did you think of the speech of your Democratic colleague Zell Miller at the Republican Convention?

KERRY
Everybody has the right to give a speech. I didn't see it, and I haven't read it. I didn't see one minute of the convention.

http://www.time.com/time/magazine/article/0,9171,1101040920-695825-3,00.html

What?! A political candidate who doesn't discuss politics?

And didn't Kerry tell us at midnight after the RNC, that the republicans had just finished a "smear" convention? Did he not tell the world what a hate filled affair the convention was?

NOW he says that he never watched ONE minute of it?! Great, he makes decisions and speeches on subjects he knows nothing about! He takes the intelligence handed to him as the truth, without checking things out for himself?

I saw this earlier . . . at the end at least, the Slimes reporters (they all seem to be from there) acknowledge that the Republicans kicked a$$.

I also noticed a Discovery/Times channel ad, and am wondering if the Slimes and Discovery communications are prepping the public for greater advertising efforts for this channel. They sure weren't given the same access to the pubbie war room. Yet, it seemed to me that they really had to work hard to acknowledge at least a few truths....but the rest of their comments were extremely shallow, esp. Maureen Dowd's. Yech!

Duly submitted by email to info@texansfortruth.com, along with the 6-7 other eyewitness testimonies. So far, no reply on how many times the group will pay the $10,000 reward they promised.

I saw Steve Pitkin speak at the rally in DC today, and heard the roar of approval when he apologized to the Vietnam Vets. Someone yelled "That takes guts!" and another shouted "He's enough of a man to apologize and ask forgiveness." When the vote was taken, there was no question about it -- the vets forgave him.

Bush's acceptance speak is filled with items that can be considered mandates for action after he wins.

It was definitely a touching moment. You could tell how much Steve Pitkin agonized over what had happened so many years ago. It does take guts to do what he did today.

I know you've been busy lately, but...

That was the strategic purpose of all their campaigns to claim Bush lied… They openly discussed this in a NYT article, I belive published 6/1/03…

I googled and googled to no avail. If you could find this or give some more clues? It could be effective to get this plan of back then out in the open now.
