But Bill Glennon, a technology consultant in New York City who worked for IBM repairing typewriters from 1973 to 1985, says those experts "are full of crap. They just don't know." Glennon says there were IBM machines capable of producing the spacing, and a customized key the likes of which he says were not unusual could have created the superscript th.
Coulda woulda shoulda. All they're left to argue is that it's possible that the office could have had a $4,000 machine and the author could have switched typesets to make the "th" even though he didn't like to type in the first place, and he could have decided to use a special font just for the heck of it . . . man, they're getting desperate.

Wonder where they dug this new "expert" up from...how long 'til we find out he's never touched a typewriter in his life and has paid 100,000 to the DNC...

People who were there, namely Rufus Martin, say they did not have the equipment. Moreover, all you've got to do is look at the other papers that were produced in that time period to see that they did not.
The leftist media is working overtime to pull the wool over the eyes of the American voters. Too bad there is no one who will call them on it.

The basic facts are not very mysterious: Bush got a coveted homeland gig in the Guard, just as many other well-connected college graduates did, while hundreds of thousands of other young men got drafted and sent to Vietnam.
As someone else has said who was an ANG pilot at this time, anyone who met the requirements could get in. There was no big waiting line.

The truth is, while Kerry may have taken a hit in the polls as a result of the largely bogus criticism of his war record, Bush, as the incumbent, is not as vulnerable even if the accusations are more credible.Time displays once again the art of the not so veiled media bias.

Will any of this matter come Election Day? The truth is, while Kerry may have taken a hit in the polls as a result of the largely bogus criticism of his war record, Bush, as the incumbent, is not as vulnerable even if the accusations are more credible. Americans have spent four years watching Bush as President. Kerry is the unknown, and as with any stranger at the gate, people are wary. What's more, the breathless debate over typewriter fonts last week shifted the debate away from Bush's questionable record. All you need to know about this article....

It was pointed out to me in another thread that there would be a paper trail for an asset like the Selectric Composer. Seems like we should be able to track down if one existed for Killian to use.

Five years ago, this may have mattered, but not so much now.
People have watched Bush prosecute the War on Terror. They know where he stands on the issues of the day, and the vast majority of them respect him as a strong leader.
It is very difficult for me to understand the RAT strategy of pounding W again and again over Vietnam. I'm starting to believe the conspiracy theory that Kerry was never intended to win this election in the first place.

The good news is that the Kerry campaign staffers have actually read Unfit for Command hence their discombobulation.

After years of denying he had done anything special for Bush, he reluctantly said in a 1999 deposition that he had pushed to get Bush into the Guard at the request of a friend of the Bush family. Recently, Barnes, who has become a fund raiser for Kerry, has again spoken out about the matter, acknowledging at a Texas rally and on CBS that he had helped Bush. My understanding has been that he denied helping Bush get in at the deposition under oath.

God, thesememos are forgeries. CBs didn't even authenticate the type, they only had a handwriting expert authenticate one memo.

Remember, Kerry wasn't in the U.S. Navy. He was in the Naval Reserve. He and Bush were in the same boat (pun intended).

The problem is that the facts make no difference to these people. They will continue to insist that they must be genuine because it was technically possible for the document to have been produced on some machine, somewhere in the world. The testimony of witnesses is also irrelevant to these people. If it disagrees with their own lies, then they dismiss it as the worthless testimony of a Bush supporter.

Monday Sept 20th. This won't run for another week. Excellent. Magazines are dated in advance so they won't appear dated. Like a January magazine might hit the stands in November. Then when it's february, somebody might buy it because it's "only" a month old.

While I obviously disagree that the SBVT have been discreditedHow could they be? No one knows what Kerry's military records say. He hasn't released them. There's nothing that proves the Vets wrong.
