Chris Matthews is "worried that MSNBC parent Microsoft might pull funding and shutter 'Hardball.' That would force Matthews to look for another berth - possibly on Fox." ...Matthews' contract reported has a provision saying he gets a job at NBC if MSNBC gets sold. It is reported by several sources that Rick Kaplan, who left CNN in the wake of the Tailwind scandal and now runs MSNBC, is a big backer (for whatever reason) of Matthews.

More and more; I see faces that I gladly escaped from those other stations; it is annoying to turn on Fox and suddenly; there is the 'face'; and there are the same lies. . .
I rationalized, they needed a few to get started; they need them for 'balance'. . .they need to attract and re-educate their fans; who follow them.
But ENOUGH is ENOUGH already!
NO; NO; NO. . .to Chris Matthews!
As I mentioned and IMHO; they need to promote John Gibson up; and forget about bringing any more on board.
Me too. Even got friends to watch as well. . .NOT anymore. Chris lost it, when Clinton could not have a third term. . .when Algore lost election to GW.
Matthews' passion for politics became no more than a visceral hatred of all things 'Republican'; the most important of which is our President.
Not only did he buy a TV Cable Network, he INVENTED CABLE TV. For years he relied on tinfoil for "better reception" (if ya know what I mean...).
Replace that misinformed Colmes with Softball.....Sean would destroy his image as tough...His stank wont pass the gas test!
I say we get all these blow-hards and put together HNN-- The Hurricane News News.
"Spin! Spin! Spin! And MORE hot air and human debris in every news cycle than ever before! This is HNN!"
*sigh* Hurricane News NETWORK
Heh... but wait... no, yeah, you may be onto something there... they could broadcast from Cuba, good place for them.
9/11 changed Geraldo... also, I think he likes working in the field better, he's too physical to be bound to a desk.
I used to dislike Geraldo but these days I'm starting to appreciate him...he's great in the field. And yes, he displays a bounding enthusiasm in the field. Once he learned the limits, he started doing a marvelous job with our troops and you could see how much they liked him.
The other day he was reporting from a hurricane (which one???) and was bouncing and smiling from ear to ear.
I really do believe he (in the field) and Fox have been a good fit.
His old draw-a-map-in-the-sand caper...LOL I guess it did prove even the most-seasoned reporters did need to go to reporter bootcamp before being turned loose in Iraq. I, too, was glad they let him back in, he really knows how to get those guys enthused and heaven knows they need it...
If FNC hired Matthews, I'd stop watching it altogether. If I want to watch pukes like him I can just watch CBS and the other carnival freak shows.
FPL! Visors down everybody! Spit deflectors in place. We have got to convince everyone to call him by his freeper code name so they have more time to type what a jerk he is.
I agree with you about Geraldo. He does seem to love all that stuff and his overly dramatic style amuses me.
But I agree totally.
FPL ping about the family not on Atkins.
After all, the Dead Raccoon position has been open ever since Paula Zahn left for CNN, Matthews likely destination -- if not picked up by Air America.
If Fox is intent on driving its ratings down, Matthews would exceed expectations. However, it is doubtful Fox would be interested since Roger Ailes' rap on Matthews is that he never lets his guests finish their sentences. Add to that unprecedented rudeness (other than O'Reilly, that is), and Matthews would not seem to be a winning bet. If it happens, it is only because Peter Chernin or James Murdoch forced him on Ailes so as to fend off charges against Fox of being too conservative as portrayed in the film "Outfoxed."
Nevertheless, to put this in perspective, Fox should not be so thin skinned. No network tries as hard to present both points of view, including CNN -- Crossfire alone does not do it. For instance, can anyone name the resident conservatives on ABC, CBS or NBC that argue against the daily Democrat talking points posing as news? Does the MSM have anyone comparable to Fox's liberals: Colmes, Connolly, Clift, Corn, Estrich, Ferraro, Henican, Liasson, Ratner, Wallace, Williams, and sometimes Kondracke?
. . .but your answer is a good one; including. . .

Personally, I do not think Chris should be 'so rewarded'.
Again; I think Chris's passion for politics has been reduced to a hatred of all things Republican; and most viscerally expressed against our President. I no longer respect him and no longer watch him.
LOL. . .and a great place for Matthews.
I actually think Greta does a good job; she is a Lib, for sure; but not obnoxious or 'in your face'; is always polite etc.
Will say she is stuck, unfortunately, in 'trial mode'; but that attracts a whole lot of other viewers to FOX NEWS; that otherwise would never visit. . .surely there is a reason for the 'court fixation'. . .ie 'ratings'!
You can't stand Neil???
I love that guy!
