I saw it today, freggin` great. Effen was exposed for was he is; Nothing more that a two bit good for nothing yellow bellied self serving backstabbing traitor. And this putz has the gall to run for President? He shouldn`t even be Senator!

The group's president, Larry Bailey, accused Kerry of lying three decades ago when he returned from Vietnam and gave testimony before the U.S. Senate alleging widespread atrocities by American troops.

Here we go again with the L word.

If JK believed what he said, it was not a lie, regardless of whether the stories he told were objectively true or not.

Similarly, when GWB said Saddam had WMDs, and it turns out he didn't, this is not a lie if he believed it when he said it.

There is certainly an ethical problem of making statements, as JK did, about repeating as true stories of atrocities you did not personally witness or verify through other means. But that doesn't make such statements LIES.

Of course, he may have been fully cognizant of the untruthfulness of what he was saying, but nobody but he knows or can know this.

I was going to watch the JETS football game today but could not pull away from the C-Span coverage of this event. In addition to the men and woman vets who spoke, I was touched by the daughters of two men, a Sergeant and a Lt. Colonel, who were killed during the Vietnam war. When Laura Armstrong said "We need a leader, not a weather-vane", I wished I had been there to cheer her on. She put into one sentence what this election is all about.

I can say they were lies. I know of people who were there at the Winter Soldier Meetings in 1971. Kerry's statements were crafted and scripted and designed during these meetings to specifically to change public opinion about the war He was the spokesman, he volunteered, and knew that they were generalized and not true, yet to this day he has yet to recant, and in fact has stood behind the statements.

More about Kerry's deceptions are forthcoming in the weeks to come in ads and a new book, as some of the witnesses begin to get their story out.
