NAACP Leader Plans To Apologize To Bush Cabnet Member (update)
AP ^ | September 13, 2004

Baltimore, MD -- The national leader of the NAACP says today he will personally apologize to U-S Education Secretary Rod Paige for the withdrawn invitation to speak at the organization's Ohio Dinner.

Kweisi Mfume is president of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People. He says he was "appalled" when he found out about the snub on Friday.

He says the national organization never ordered the withdrawal.

He called the decision by the group's Ohio State Conference

wrong.

Paige at first was invited to talk about education reforms, but

the organization rescinded that on Tuesday because of a perceived

political imbalance on the panel.

A message was left at the group's Cleveland office today.

You can bet your last dollar the NAACP will not apologize to the "White Man" in the White House for worst than a snubbing!

Believe me, if the demonicrats were leading in the polls, this apology would never have taken place. They are being cautious because they feel the anger of the American people toward their party for their insensitivity, rudeness, hatred, bigotry, and hypocrisy. This so called gesture of apology is not from the heart it's for their political survival and that's the bottom line.

Even NAACP smell the Kerry loss blowin in the wind. I see this as an attempt to save at least some face. Maybe they'll wake up completely.

I will be sorely disappointed if Rod Paige bothers to acknowledge any apology from this scumbag, Mfume. or his sick, radical, America-hating organization. I can hardly believe that Mr. Paige accepted their invitation in the first place.

Is that any way to talk about an organization run by a former Congressman of the US?

When Rod Paige was superintendent of schools in Houston, my sister and brother-in-law actually bought a house and moved from the suburbs into the school district for the sake of their children's education. There were more than a few other suburbanites who did the same thing. This alone speaks volumes about the ability of the man to run an education system.

His remark about the NEA being a terrorist organization was spot on. The moronic Shelia Jackson Lee actually tried to take credit for the improvement in Houston's inner city schools on Paige's watch . . . all the while trying to sabatoge him by playing lapdog for her NEA masters.

Mfume just confirmed he did not know Rod Paige was black.
Well, that's my take on it any way.
Either that, or he was deeply saddened that he didn't have a chance to try and embarrass Rod Paige as he had planned.

Some imbalance -- one moderate Bushite Cabineteer (amid dragoons of PS-liberoids)! Hoo-haa!!

Paige would have been outnumbered, but he's not outgunned!!!
