DNC TO LAUNCH FRESH ATTACK ON BUSH GUARD DUTY:  WILL RAISE QUESTIONS ABOUT 1978 CAMPAIGN LIT

**Exclusive**

Faster than a CBS eye can blink, dogged Dems are set to take to the airwaves anew hoping to keep questions about President Bush's National Guard duty in play, the DRUDGE REPORT has learned.

Candidate Kerry apparently has rejected former President Clinton's advice not to get further locked in a 2004 Vietnam quagmire.

"George W. Bush's campaign literature claimed that he 'served in the U.S. Air Force.' The only problem? He didn't,"  slams a new DNC press release set for distribution.

Dems will attempt to increase the heat on Bush ahead of his planned Tuesday address before The National Guard Association gathering in Las Vegas.

In 2000, Bush opened his National Guard Association speech: "General, I am reporting for duty."

MORE

Kerry plans to speak to the group on Thursday, but he personally hold back questioning Bush's service, sources explain.

The coordinated nationwide effort this week by the DNC has been code-named "Project Fortunate Son."

"George Bush has a clear pattern of lying about his military service," DNC Communications Director Jano Cabrera blasts in the new release. "From 1978 to the present day, George Bush has refused to tell voters the truth about his service. It's time for the President to come clean."

"Flyers distributed to Texas voters during Bush's failed Congressional race say 'he served in the U.S. Air Force and the Texas Air National Guard.' But according to Air Force officials, Air National Guardsmen are not counted as members of the active-duty Air Force."

Nicosia had many, but not all, of his boxes of FBI material on the VVAW conveniently "stolen" from his SF garage. The only person who could benefit from that is Lurch. If the info was available to an author using the FOIA, why hasn't anyone else asked for it? And I don't mean CBS!

Although the Air National Guard
was not established as a separate
component of the U.S. Air Force
until 1947, National Guard
aviators have played significant
roles in all of America's wars and
most of it's major contingencies
since the beginning of the 20th
Century. Visit the pages on this
history site to explore the heritage
of American flight...as seen
through the deeds of minutemen.

He must have been in the Air Force for his pilot training just like every other National Guard person when they are ordered to active duty to do their training - Or have the rules changes? The DNC is a disgrace to the United States, what happened to the party of FDR, HST and JF Kennedy? We now have a bunch who support the enemies of the United States and will stop at nothing to gain control so they can give the country to the Islamic terrorist. Their actions are disgusting and totally anti-American. Must be the same bunch of left-wing fascist democrats who spit on me when I returned from Vietnam, and who were blowing up government buildings in the 1970's.

IIRC, in order for the Air Force to train a Guard pilot, that future pilot had to have a slot in the Guard unit that was sponsoring him through UPT guaranteed for that particular airplane. Guard pilots get their UPT slots with the USAF through their Guard unit.

In the Air Force, you get your assignment on how you perform during UPT and what planes were available. Guard pilots already knew what they were going to fly when they came to UPT. There were a limited number of fighters available in any UPT CLASS. Top USAF graduates get their first choice (usually fighters) then you get heavies, bombers, etc. Some guys just were not qualified "fighter pilot" material and could not even put in for a fighter.

"Although the Air National Guard was not established as a separate component of the U.S. Air Force until 1947...."

From the Air National Guard homepage, which, N.B., is at www.ang.af.mil.

Let McAuliffe do his worst--which is just about the same as his best.

This is an excellent plan. Keep hitting on the NG beforehand. Kerry should bring Teresa too. I know DNC lurkers read here, so I got to give you credit where credit's due.

The "swift boats" are NOT a political party. They are not run by a political party.

John O'Neill is a DEMOCRAT .. who did not vote for George Bush.

The "swift boats" have said over and over, they do not take orders from George Bush. They are in this for the long haul and will not stop until the election is over and John Kerry IS NOT President.

For all of McGovern's faults, he was a class act.

More startling than the reticence about his war record is that he actually ran on what he believed. Ok, not too many voters believed the same things, but you have to give him credit.

These dnc boys are fishing in the 'dead sea'. It keeps 'em busy, but they ain't going to catch any fish.

democrats been trying to burn the Bush on this since he challenged Anne Richards for the govenorship of Texas.

The DD214 (honorable discharge) TRUMPS all their claims and bogus stories "of "where was George?"

So happens I was in the USMCR at the same time, so have some knowledge of the situation. Lots of jet jocks, especially USAF, were being released early (RIF-Reduction in Force)from active duty due to Viet Nam winding down.

The USMCR held tight on us enlisted guys, but the US military had pilots, many combat vets, up the wazoo, and they were less restrictive on them.

Problem is, everything after Frenchie's departure from Viet Nam is progressively worse for him politically. He has no choice. He has to keep the Era in the news or Joe Couchpotato will start thinking hey why didn't this guy go to prison 25 years ago?

Yes, but they believe being a Christian demands choosing faith over science. They do not believe Christians can use science to point to God's existence. We aren't simpletons, though that is the portrait they maintain.

It would then follow they believe our support for G.W. will collapse by accusing him & Family of *taboo* items such as homosexuality, witchcraft, drug use, and the rape of a minor. Our faith is supposed to be emotionally driven, so we should be susceptible to these charges.

In reality the only ones buying this tripe are those in the DNC camp. Their faith does not involve the citation of substantive evidence from both nature and science testifying to a Supreme Being's existence. Their faith is driven by a guttural hatred for this President that defies the realm of logic. It is destructive and it is destroying them from within. A part of me feels real sympathy for them, but I show no leniacy in allowing them to continue unchallenged.

The Christian vote will not be deterred by this attack, it will strengthen. "Independents" and "Zell Democrats" not to forget 9-11 "Republicans/Liberals" will turn away in disgust.

The absolute truth is that the rats do not have a candidate who can say 'look here is my 20 or 30 year career, here is what I did,' they have to re-invent their guy all the time. It's tedious and of course always a lie. That's why they really do not have a prayer.

at some point claiming "noncoordination" becomes beyond credulity for Kamp Kerry and the 527ettes.

No matter how much reporters want to, they do have to answer to the "ratings gods". Will they be able to cover the same old 28th rehash of every possible lie?

Rather has torpedoes their credibility and this is just going to come across as mere desperation.

Soon demands will start for kerry to release his own records. Which he may do in the final weeks of october out of desperation if the pressure is strong enough.

However the MSM will never get that they are being used like little puppets on strings.

"George W. Bush's campaign literature claimed that he 'served in the U.S. Air Force.' The only problem? He didn't," slams a new DNC press release set for distribution.

Maybe there should be a duel .. put Terry in one jet and the president's jet and see who can't fly ?
