Well, whadaya think? If true, it absolutely ends the argument about the docs once and for freaking all.
Hugh's other 2 e-mails are also damning to Rather and CBS.

Hmm... Interesting. Very interesting.
Dan, I think it's over for you.

Don't worry, Dan Rather, 60-Minutes, CBS News and finally the CBS Network all stand by their story because the underlying facts are supported by the preponderence of evidence.
(Loose translation----we don't care if the documents are forged, we like the story and are going to keep runing with it until we have no credibility in any forum and we have destroyed the name of our network)

And .... didn't Dan say that we should be looking beyond the question of validity of the documents? We should be looking at the content!! Yeesh!!!!!

If true, it absolutely ends the argument about the docs once and for freaking all.Not with Dan. He is continuing his stonewall with very limited hangout. He probably sees it as a "nothing to lose" proposition: Admit he foisted a fraud upon the American people or deny, deny, deny on the chance, however slim, that the issue may blow over.

It's time to ask CBS this: "What is Rather holding over the heads of some higher ups that they are willing to destroy CBS rather than risking their own careers. It is obvious now that Rather is being protected to the detriment of the shareholders of CBS." There is the criminality of investor fraud now underway at the Black Eye Network.

It just goes proves that in addition to inventing the internet, Al Gore (the wood) also invented a focused beam gravity wave particulate time recombiner.
So he transformed the Underwood at Killians office temporarily on 4th May 1972 into an IBM PC with laser printer output.
I bet he didn't think he would cause all these problems for the dims.

Yes. Rather said the 'substance' of the memos is more important. Ellen 'ranting' Ratner yesterday and Juan William today both said the content is important, even if the documents are fakes.
They expect the public to buy that. After all, 40%+ are buying Kerry and all his 'plans' and 'new directions'.
Hey, the LibMedia sold Bill Clinton and got him elected twice. Maybe they can sell the pig-in-a-poke Kerry.

Actually, it is a wait-and-see.
If the Rather controversy brings viewers (which CBS has been losing in droves), and that improves the Viacom bottom line, they will let Rather continue. When the Rather controversy shows signs of damaging the Viacom bottom line, Rather will be retired.
To quote Judge Judy, "Follow the money."

Dan and CBS will stonewall, because it is their least-bad option.

"Rather said the 'substance' of the memos is more important. Ellen 'ranting' Ratner yesterday and Juan William today both said the content is important, even if the documents are fakes." I wonder if it will finally come to this:
Judge's instructions to the jury:
"Ladies and gentlemen, please remember that even if the defendant has been proven to have been lying, it is just as important to consider the content of his lies as it is to consider the weight of the truth."
To: TomGuy

Quite right - thus far I see no impact on the share price, will be interesting to see what the next week produces.
Remember folks, CBS News is a business, the P&L carries the most weight.

I don't believe in wait -and-see. I believe in forcing the issue to the front so decisions to do what is right are made.
