Yeah for Freepers! This site, and those who comprise it, ROCK!

Is there a site similar to the SEAL site to verify Army Rangers? A man in my office claims to have been a Ranger, but based on his work ethic, or lack thereof, I am sceptical. Thanks in advance for any help that Freepers can provide.

I'm a database guy, so I'll give you a tip about the following sites. The SEALs database is the most complete one, because all SEALs apparently have to go through a special training program and complete it. I think there are other factors involved in Special Forces and the Rangers, and I'll include a snippet from a column which explains this (Travis, I pinged you because you might be able to explain some of this better.):

know the military first

The links for the war fakes story are not all that accurate. I am married to a US Army RAnger and he was very upset... The links for the war fakes story are not all that accurate. I am married to a US Army RAnger and he was very upset when I showed him the article. Firstly, not everyone who goes to Ranger school goes on to join the RAnger REgiment, of which there are only three battalions..two in Ga, one in Wash. Also, most Army rangers have not yet gone to RAnger school. PLenty of Rangers who were involved in both Enduring FReedom and Iraqi Freedom have not yet gone to Ranger school. Also, other airborne untis, such as the 101st are not part of the Ranger unit, which only operates under the special operations command. PLease think of this before you label someone as a fake. Rangers have died, and Rangers that you will not find in any of those RAnger school photos. also, there are plenty of sodliers who go to the school and do not go into Regiment. PLease, before anyone writes any stories about the military understand the units you are referring to. It is unfair to label someone a fake, without youreally knowing what they have done. Also..anyone within the special operations command, will not and can not, under military law, talk to you about operations. That would be a better way to judge if they are really Army Rangers, not just airborne. Thank you. (http://www.poynter.org/article_feedback/article_feedback_list.asp?user=&id=33053)
