When this fake SEAL's claim of spending five years in Viet Nam was pointed out to me, I knew he couldn't be for real. SEALs deployed to VN for 6 month tours, so "five years in Viet Nam" seemed highly improbable. I knew lots of multiple tour "real deal Viet Nam SEALs" during my peacetime duty in the teams in the 1980s, and I never heard of this guy.

This only took a couple of minutes time for "amateurs" on Free Republic to check out. The "professional" journalists at the AP must have been to busy to do this basic checking.

Travis, trust me, the man is real.

He, John Kerry, and a guy I know from Livermore Falls, formed a DSS Seal Team that swam across the Mekong Delta into Cambodia in nightly forays to nab prisoners. Yes, they were subdued with the "Vulcan Pinch," to be later revived with mouth-to-mouth enthusiastically administered by Kerry. (BTW, it was theses cruel lessons of war that enabled Kerry to revive that moribund hamster so quickly, not to mention scores of starlets) On several of the super-secret missions, we were joined by a Bavarian nobleman, Herr Baron von Munchausen (code name UMLAUT).

It is precisely he who will be a part of President Kerry's team to involve more allies in the WOT. And, it is his hat that JFK carries in his briefcase. von Munchausen and I go back a ways, too so you can take this story to the bank, Bud.

I sent this email to the USS CURRITUCK ASSN:

"I think you may be interested in knowing that your newsletter is involved in a controversy on a major forum.

What happened is a man, named Ahamd Majied, was pretending to be a Seal and slammed Bush. Someone tracked him down on the internet as serving on your ship, through your newsletter, but the Seals said he is not a Seal.

Supposedly Majied has back down on being a seal, but now we want to know if he was really on your ship."

I received this reply tonight:

"If memory serves me correctly, when he contacted me regarding membership, he claimed a name change. While I could not find his name in the list of crew members I extracted from the ship's personnel diary from the National Archives on microfilm, there was a possibility because some of the documents were illegible. He joined the association in Sept 2003, but he might have duped us/me as well. Would be interesting to know how many other organizations he has applied for membership in.

Ron Curtis, Sec USS CURRITUCK ASSN"

Any Freepers out there know how to check whether Mr. Ahmad Majied was in the service.?

If the AP wants to use a SEAL as a reference for being Anti-Bush why aren't they using Jesse Ventura? Latest news on the Anti-Bush/Navy Seal Jesse Ventura is that he is now also Anti-Kerry!
