CSPAN will cover the march live at 2:00 EST
They ran for & are holding office in the government. (At least one of them)
Exactly.
Don't let the RATS get away with their lies.
2AM C-Span for rebroadcast of Vietnam Vets for the Truth Rally.
PING!

you're absolutely correct. The fact that he saluted smartly at the beginning of hisacceptance speech opened the gates to what he did and said "while still a commissioned officer" 35 years ago. He caused POWs to be put on the spot by his testimony; caused regular vets to cover up for his lies (ie in Cambodia, close to Cambodia, etc) and then goes so far as to say after he got back that Vietnam was the "biggest nothing in history." My opinion: he lost his election chances in the first 30 seconds of his DNC speech.
You know, I think you are on to something. That was way after my time on the dark side, but I live in a hippie haven rural area. I noticed about 8 years ago or so that a lot of Dead Heads were suddenly running real businesses.
Of course, if you visited the front offices, the odor of incense trying to mask the pot was overwhelming. Many of them switched to wholesale production ASAP. They are actually doing quite well, but from what I can tell, the lifestyle is still prevalent, just less obvious. At least they are now paying taxes and because they are in an owner/worker set up, the solidarity has suffered.
One thing I have noticed is that the majority of their kids don't do that well in the real world. AFAIK, though, the parents are still supporting leftist causes. I can only hope they will vote Nader or stay home.
You said a mouthful & yes, to almost everything. My first vote went to Carter, a vote against everything Nixon & then I grew up. Starting a small manufacturing business with 20 bucks start up money in 1977 straightened out some of my thinking in a hurry, though it only made me a fiscal conservative. My disinterest with the importance of a decent military woke up with a crash, right along with a helicopter in Iran.
"Now what do you have in mind to give to these that were not broken, stood strong, and NOW are FREE!!!!"
I'd give you an answer, but I don't understand what you're talking about. I merely said Americans have to show more respect to vets. Beyond that I can't expand--respect is shown on an individual, not a one-size-fits-all, basis. And I don't know what the rest of your post has to do with that. Sorry.
I understand public education.
I saw some CBS buttons with a donkey in the center on several people. I'm pretty sure they are buttons that Doctor Raoul asked me to have made for him. He was at the rally and probably was handing out the buttons.
I'm glad to hear that Carol Crowley was wearing one. She gave an awesome speech.
Carter was a wakeup call to a lot of us.
Off subject, but did anyone hear Marie Batoroloma????? (financial guru) on the Chris Matthews show, when asked to tell Chris something he didn't know, predict a 10 to 12 percent win for Pres. Bush in Nov.?
I am late giving a quick response, but the screen caps so far on this thread [before #197] do not show the real size of the crowd. I was there, and I am sure there were more that 1000 proud Americans, most of them over 50.
Also the audio of the CSPAN tape that I made in the VCR is lame. I listened to the same rally on CSPAN radio as I was driving home, and the audio on the radio was loud and accurate.
Can we say blatant bias!
It was more like a thousand.
Im glad I went.
Thanks for the correction if you think I misjudged the size of the crowd. I'm glad you were there. The speeches were terrific.
I've read others commenting on the sound, but I noticed no problems, though I was working so I was in and out.
If I had the money I'd take those speakers on the road, following Kerry around and giving "rebuttals" to his speeches.
By the way, I learned at the Ralley that Dan Rather was only in the Marine Corp for 16 weeks before they asked him to go home.
I was only quoting reports on the size of the rally.
Im glad you were there as well!
Rather Flunked out on PT after 4 mos L0L
If this group had a press conference instead, then the room would be PACKED, and the media would have to portray it as "A press conference for these vets was filled to capacity," and the speakers could speak in a more formal setting, their stories uninterrupted by protestors.

The swift vets gave a press conference at the National Press Club in Washington, DC on May 4, 2004.
The room was packed! 16 or 17 men spoke into the microphone about their personal reason why John Kerry was not fit to be CIC.
The almost total lack of coverage of that event caused John O'Neill to write his book.
thank you patriciamary :)
