Televangelist Paul Crouch Attempts to Keep Accuser Quiet

Televangelist Paul Crouch, founder of the world's largest Christian broadcasting network, has waged a fierce legal battle to prevent a former employee from publicizing allegations that he and Crouch had a sexual encounter eight years ago.

Crouch, 70, is the president of Trinity Broadcasting Network, based in Orange County, whose Christian programming reaches millions of viewers around the world via satellite, cable and broadcast stations.

The source of the allegations against him is Enoch Lonnie Ford, who met Crouch at a TBN-affiliated drug treatment center in 1991 and later went to work for the ministry.

After Ford threatened to sue TBN in 1998, claiming that he had been unjustly fired, Crouch reached a $425,000 settlement with him. In return, Ford agreed, among other things, not to discuss his claim about a sexual encounter with the TV preacher.

I'm shocked at how many people think the allegations are automatically true. The guy who's accusing him "has a history of drug problems and has served time for a sex offense". It sounds like an attempt by a psycho to extort money from Paul Crouch. Read the article. The guy is an accomplished extortionist. He already said that he'd keep the manuscript out of the public eye if Crouch paid him $10-million dollars."


TRUTH is always the first casualty in all things. I have no clue about the veracity of the accusation and I do not know anything about Paul Crouch.

However, I do believe that Bill Clinton would make an excellent business "preacher" and that plate would never stop being passed. This is nothing to do with Paul Crouch.

This story just reminded me about what Billy Graham said about Clinton and then low and behold old Bill was preaching a couple of weeks ago.

Many, many years ago, they used to spread out all the slips of paper that the "prayer partners" on the phones had filled out for those who called in to receive or announce their salvation that night. They'd spread them out on the steps on the set and rejoice over them.

It was my opinion back then that TBN's real downfall started when they stopped doing that. That's about the time I stopped watching.

How in GOD's NAME could any "decent-moral-upright" pastor-priest-rabbi alive in the twentieth-century ALLOW HIMSELF to be smeared with this degree of scandalous allegation without something being SERIOUSLY wrong with that pastor-priest-rabbi's personal integrity ?


No one could EVER accuse either Billy Graham or Mother Theresa of ANYTHING like a HOMOSEXUAL affair.


The focal point issue with 99.999999999 percent of these damned TV-Radio preachers is that they're ego-maniacs on the rampage.


So ... JustMyThoughts, don't expect any "quarter" regarding your defense of a complete idiot like Paul Crouch or his Jezebell-worshipping wife, BOTH of whom are in SERIOUS need of serious psychiatric (sp) treatment.


Even the HEATHEN don't act as pathetically (i.e. Poor White Trailer-Park Trash) as those two clowns, and while we're on the subject, allowing a Galactic Freak such as Bennie Hinn to appear on their TV network.


Paul Crouch, Bennie Hinn, ad nauseum have the same integrity and sex-starved greedy averice-filled hearts and souls as those WWF TV Wrestlers.

I could care less if Crouch is or is not a homosexual. He is still a POS who is probably running his whole operation for the simple reason of making money by ripping off his ignorant viewers.

BTW, I'm an atheist but have tremendous respect for traditional Western Christianity something with which these TV hucksters have very little to do with.

You have a reading problem, since you cannot provide any documents authentic or otherwise that I have defended anything about Paul Crouch.

It's ok I have compassion for the handicapped.
