The CBSNEWS website includes links to four pdf files that are allegedly documents produced by the late Lt. Colonel Jerry B. Killian. The USA Today website (search on "bush docs") includes a link "see the memos" which links to a pdf file which includes all of the CBS documents and two more. The two additional "Killian" documents are dated 02 February 1972, and 24 June 1973. The earlier document includes the more informal "Jerry B. Killian" signature block but no signature. The later document is an apparent practice letter with a salutation to "sir" but no address or name of the person to whom Colonel Killian is trying to correspond. I can certainly understand why these two additional documents did not make the "60 Minutes" cut. They are worth reviewing for a number of reasons if you have not seen them.
"He contacted the maintainer of the selectric composer website and had him try and reproduce the memos using it because so much of the left is in a tizzy over this machine."
CBS Evening News updated their website and addressed the Selectric Composer issue tonight. I guess they are getting desperate.

I believe that medicals are due on the last day of the month in which a serviceperson's birthday falls and not on the actual birthday, itself. Dh went to the Naval Academy and has been a Marine since the late 80s.
It needs to be investigate. If proved true, this is a serious (Watergate like) offense. It is an attempt to influence our country's election process through deceit.
Not that much different than stealing documents.
Ahem... Mr Berger.
I forgot to mention that President Bush's birthday is 6 July. His medical would expire at midnight on 31 July.
1st, no one who couldn't type himself would send an informal typewritten note to a subordinate. He would just call him on the telephone or write it out by hand.
24 June note - No military officer who could not type would send a typed written note addressed to "Sir" I mean "Sir" f'n who?
Texas Air National Guard. Colonel Staudt told the Los Angeles Times July 4th, 1999 that "Nobody did anything for him. There was no goddamn influence on his behalf. Neither his daddy nor anybody else got him into the Guard."
There is a direct tie to both hit pieces CBS aired on Wednesday.
Speaking of stolen documents, any new news about the break-in at the home of the guy with the VVAW archives?
Civilian style would allow it to be done that way, but the full name & address of the person the thing is being sent to would be up above the body of the letter.
Except that Killian couldn't type.

Bush was at the 5000 Longmont address in 1968 page 1
Bush was at 2039 One Half South BLVD by 1971 page 7
They got his address wrong in the memos?
Yeah I noticed that too.
BTW Welcome to Freerepublic
"They got his address wrong in the memos?"
Whenever you move you must update your office with the new address and phone number so they can complete a recall quickly if mobilization is required. It does not make sense.
"Whenever you move you must update your office with the new address and phone number so they can complete a recall quickly if mobilization is required. It does not make sense."
Exactly. Bush's address at that time would be in his rolodex or address book. Whomever forged these took the Address off the first page of his records.
"Also, they don't have the underlines from the pen on the may 19th memo."
Good point. The emphasis was added by ??? for the purpose of ???
A blooger maybe got USAtoday to buy some bogus memos he pandered to later show what fools the media are.
Maybe a blogger started theis entire scenario and is just waiting to spring the trap onto Dan Rather, CBS and the entire old media. It is likely the two Castro/Hugo phone call pranksters out of Miami, they are even now yuking it up waiting on Ivan.
"To get Dan Rather to focus on what to report."
. . . along with the talking points of what the memos "purported" to demonstrate! . . .
