Mickey Kaus on Liberal Conspiracy Theory re CBS Docs (involves Freeper Buckhead)
Kausfiles ^ | 9/11/04

Posted on 09/11/2004 2:26:27 AM PDT by ambrose

Patterico shoots down a promising pro-Kerry Web conspiracy theory--namely that the potential forgery of the CBS Bush guard documents was spotted so quickly on the Web that the person who spotted it ("Buckhead," poster #47 at Free Republic) must have been tipped off in advance. That would suggest that any forgery was planted, presumably by pro-Bush forces. But it seems this whole theory, promoted in this morning's ABC News Note, was based on a misreading of time stamps by ABC. In reality, Buckhead had a couple of hours to come up with his post--something he confirms in an email to Patterico.... ABC has corrected its mistake (without withdrawing the now seemingly groundless insinuation). NPR hasn't corrected the error, according to Patterico, and David Brock's Media Matters still posts it. ... P.S.: Media Matters might want to decide if a) the documents are authentic, as argued at the top of their Web page or b) the documents are forgeries planted by Republicans, as argued at the bottom of their Web page. Lawyers are allowed to plead in the alternative, but a) and b) can't both be true, and the evidence for each of those propositions is also evidence against the other one. 1:10 A.M. One problem: The DNC/Kerry Campaign apparently had those documents some 6 weeks before they were given to CBS. So, why didn't DNC scrutinize the documents during that time? Why didn't they verify their authenticity? And where are the 'originals'? Too much 'funky' stuff can be done with a wordprocessing software, laser/inkjet printer, and scanner/photocopier.

I guess there is no possiblity that the source of the documents, the DNC, might actully be behind it.....

Wow, the dim-o-commies just can't believe the we pubbies have learned to fight back. They expected the "Summer of '96", and they got our Special Forces (who have been undergoing intense training for 8 years), over-running their positions easily!!!

Buckhead and Howlin are now official members of the VRWC?

TankerKC smelled a rat in about 19 minutes. ( If I have my time stamp right ) See post 107. He must be the father of all VRWC operatives.

An excellent question on one of the blogs this morning wonders why, if these are personal docs from Killian's file, they appear to have been copied so many times? If he had these files, why didn't his wife know about them?
This is so incompetent, it must be from the 'RATs! Who would let a member of this brainless group be President???

"("Buckhead," poster #47 at Free Republic) must have been tipped off in advance."

What a crock, it's not possible for a amateur to spot a forged document?

No offense Buckethead.

Wow, Carl Rove's been here since 1998?
How could he have known the Internet and Free republic would be the wave of the future?
Maybe Buckethead is really a time traveler.
Could he be Mr. Seven?

Because by nature, liberals are dumber than pet rocks?

Could he be Mr. Seven?

Absolutely not!
It's intuitively obvious to the casual observer that Carl Rove spotted the power of FreeRepublic even back then. The proof is left to the reader as an exercise.

One more thing....Dan Rather and Terry McAwful have absolute, documented proof that Jim Robinson is his brother. ;>)

The only thing ythe AWOL story will expose is the corruption at CBS

People could care less about Bush's National Guard service 35 years ago

He has been president for FOUR 4 YEARS ( well almost 4 )

The public KNOWS what kind of job and person he is based on his performance as president

Joe Lockhart says they are forgeries planted by Rove

Dan Rather insists they are real

I am getting more confused by the minute

These clowns truly don't know the nature of the people at FR. Dissecting news is the staple of what is done around here. Catching the BS that comes from the typewriters of braindead media types is pretty easy when you have several thousand people doing it collectively. To even imply that Buckhead or anyone else was "tipped off" is not only an insult to FR, but shows an extreme amount of ignorance of the site and a huge amount of contempt towards people who live and breathe outside of the MSM.

Stupid, stupid people.

Of course. Why didn't we think of that before? He takes the name from the Truman phrase "the buck stops here". He is the puppetmaster (head) controlling Bush (where the buck stops); hence Buckhead. I'm surprised DU hasn't come up with this yet.

Spare me the BS. This was predictable. These clowns fear for their very media lives and don't want the spotlight to shift from television to the internet and bloggers. It's gonna be a fight to the finish. And we'll finish as winner. Rightest warriors stay united.

That's a plausible theory. Let's spread it and see what happens. [sound of evil laughter]

What did Buckhead know and When did he know it?

Buckhead = either Bush or Rove, guys. We know these two have lots of free time to comment online.

Think about it. When have you ever seen Buckhead and President Bush in the same room?? It all makes sense now.

And my old buddy Howlin must be Dick Cheney's secret online female identity. How could I have been so stupid???
