The Threat Matrix

The title refers to a daily report given to the president of the United States detailing the most serious terrorist threats against the country. To tackle those threats, the government has formed a top-notch task force to infiltrate the terror cells and cut off the danger.

"Every morning, the president receives a list of the top ten terrorist threats - this list is known as the threat matrix."

We here at FR are trying to be in conjunction with the daily reports around the world that involve threats. We try to provide a storehouse of information that takes hours of research.

Muslim group takes responsibility for 9-11: 'We are so sorry'

This September 11 marks the third unforgettable anniversary of the worst mass murder in American history.

After September 11, many in the Muslim world chose denial and hallucination rather than face up to the sad fact that Muslims perpetrated the 9-11 terrorist acts and that we have an enormous problem with extremism and support for terrorism. Many Muslims, including religious leaders, and "intellectuals" blamed 9-11 on a Jewish conspiracy and went as far as fabricating a tale that 4000 Jews did not show up for work in the World Trade Center on 9-11. Yet others blamed 9-11 on an American right wing conspiracy or the U.S. Government which allegedly wanted an excuse to invade Iraq and "steal" Iraqi oil.

Considering we are almost half way through the month of October, the low level of chatter has me concerned. Historically "chatter" drops when a plot enters the operational phase. Compared with six months ago the internet chatter at least seems to have tapered off.

Chatter level....yep. When it's low, our enemies are busy preparing to due violence against the innocent and defenseless.

Didn't know the chatter level was low, but it makes sense. Thank you for that information. Reinforces my determination to be better prepared.

tick...tick...tick...each day that passes brings us a day closer the next attack...be ready.

Sounds serious. Any updates? I really hate the term 'unknown substance'. Makes me nervous.

I remember that. I remember a report that if the terrorists had actually been able to deploy that stuff it could've killed 80,000 innocent people.

Updated to missing sodium cyanide barrel in North Dakota, also some additional "Cyanide" articles that I found while searching....also interesting info. that I found...Sodium Cyanide is an ingredient in Nerve Gas:

Ground Search Planned for Missing Sodium Cyanide (10/11/04 - North Dakota)

Associated Press DEVILS LAKE, N.D. - Searchers on foot will continue looking this week for a missing drum of sodium cyanide, the Ramsey County sheriff says.

Sheriff Steve Nelson said two aerial searches last week failed to turn up any sign of the 15-gallon drum, which fell off a truck hauling supplies for beekeepers. Two similar barrels were recovered along state Highway 1 near Lakota on Sept. 30.

Nelson said this week's ground search will go over marshy areas with heavy brush cover, between the towns of Lawton and Brocket. Authorities believe someone may already have picked up the missing barrel.

"It's getting to a higher probability that somebody may be afraid to turn it in," Nelson said. The search has been monitored by the FBI, the state crime bureau and Department of Homeland Security. Sodium cyanide turns into a deadly gas when it comes in contact with water.

Authorities want hunters or others who spot the barrel to report it immediately. They say the barrel is black with a white label containing the words "DuPont Cyanabrik" and "sodium cyanide," and has a skull and crossbones.

Authorities say anyone who finds the barrel should stay a safe distance upwind, and immediately contact the Ramsey County Sheriff's Office at (701) 662-0700 or the North Dakota Department of Agriculture at (800) 242-7535

N.D. Guard flyover finds no Cyanide Posted on Sat, Oct. 09, 2004

Authorities concentrate search along Highway 1 between Langdon and Lakota, N.D.

The Ramsey County Sheriff's Office has no plans to stop the search for a missing 15-gallon barrel of sodium cyanide.

"We won't quit until we've exhausted all of our options," Deputy Don Meyer said. "We can't have anything like that laying out there." Meyer flew in a helicopter with the North Dakota National Guard early Friday but found no barrel. Crews also have been searching on the ground.

"The barrel is not on the ground if it's out there, it's going to be in the water," he said. Meyer said the sheriff's office is trying to coordinate with Devils Lake Search and Rescue, who can use underwater cameras to check in water-filled ditches. If the barrel is still out there, Meyer expects it may be spotted by duck hunters.

"The more eyes we have out there, I think it's going to help us," Meyer said. But, he warned, anyone who finds the barrel should stay a safe distance upwind and call 911 immediately. The barrel is black with a white label. Meyer said the search is concentrated in the ditches along Highway 1 from Langdon to Lakota, N.D.....

Sodium cyanide is considered extremely dangerous and reacts with water to create lethal hydrogen cyanide gas, which was used by the Nazis in World War II in gas chambers. It takes only 500 parts per million to kill a person in about five minutes when it's inhaled, said Andrew Thostenson, North Dakota State University pesticide program specialist.

Thanks for the ping. I've been trying to keep up with this scary story here on TM. There has been "zilch" in our local media. North Dakota isn't really that far from me.

You are very welcome...the lack of info. about incidents in the last year is amazing. TM is the only place that I have found info. on many things that were never widely reported.

I just hope that between now and the election, we are all prepared for anything and aware of everything.
