The Threat Matrix

The title refers to a daily report given to the president of the United States detailing the most serious terrorist threats against the country. To tackle those threats, the government has formed a top-notch task force to infiltrate the terror cells and cut off the danger.

"Every morning, the president receives a list of the top ten terrorist threats - this list is known as the threat matrix."

We here at FR are trying to be in conjunction with the daily reports around the world that involve threats. We try to provide a storehouse of information that takes hours of research.

Muslim group takes responsibility for 9-11: 'We are so sorry'

This September 11 marks the third unforgettable anniversary of the worst mass murder in American history.

After September 11, many in the Muslim world chose denial and hallucination rather than face up to the sad fact that Muslims perpetrated the 9-11 terrorist acts and that we have an enormous problem with extremism and support for terrorism. Many Muslims, including religious leaders, and "intellectuals" blamed 9-11 on a Jewish conspiracy and went as far as fabricating a tale that 4000 Jews did not show up for work in the World Trade Center on 9-11. Yet others blamed 9-11 on an American right wing conspiracy or the U.S. Government which allegedly wanted an excuse to invade Iraq and "steal" Iraqi oil.

I've read that our Special Forces are getting ready to nab OBL- I know- we've all heard this for a long time---but perhaps it is true this time.

Is this from any credible source?

Ferry searches should be mandatory. We've ferried to Canada several times (destination Victoria BC) and watched backpackers freely enter and exit, heaven only knowing what was in those backpacks. Also a little frightening driving your car onto one not knowing if another vehicle aboard it is loaded with explosives or weapons. Someone could have skindiving equipment with them and jump overboard and detonate after they have cleared the immediate area. Skindiver training has its possibilities with both ferries and cruise ships. Once on board, they have a captive target group.

Here's the official story on the news I reported night before last about several bank employees getting sick from money with a mysterious substance on it at a Spokane bank:

No, I didn't see that article before. Kinda makes you think about all those uniforms, badges and false IDs stolen in previous months for airlines, police, emergency responders, etc. If anyone was caught in an act of impersonation, would the person who detected it notify authorities or give the offender a warning and let them go? When so many people "in charge" earn minimum wages, it calls to question their skill or concern at recognizing inherent danger (as in the "I'm just a flunky" attitude). Vigilance can also be obstructed by those who are easily distracted.

That's a terrible thought- spread deadly toxins via our money.

Excellent vehicle for bioterrorism, isn'it? Another way for them to hit financial institutions in this country. Wonder if spray disinfectants work on some of the germs they could be sending our way or whether they render the disinfectants more or less useless.

"Terrorists are not inherently malevolent", the advertisement declared. 'They are filled with passion and a sense of being aggrieved as true of Al Qaida as the Palestinians under Israel...' Muslims "view US foreign policy and aid to be heavily biased in favour of Israel and a significant threat to Islam..."

Feds Puzzled By Ohio Sheriff's Terrorist Warning

Hamilton County Sheriff Issues Alert

UPDATED: 10:10 AM EDT October 1, 2004

CINCINNATI -- Puzzled. That's the reaction of federal officials to the decision of Hamilton County's sheriff to issue a terrorism warning.

On Thursday, Hamilton County Sheriff Simon Leis issued an alert urging vigilance against possible terrorism. His e-mail went to thousands of schools, businesses and shopping malls, warning them to be on guard.

Leis said that he sent the alert because of new information about a possible terror attack in the Midwest before the Nov. 2 election.

But the FBI and homeland security officials said that there is no intelligence about a new threat. They said concern about a possible terrorist strike before the election is based on the same intelligence that has been available for months.

They said terror alerts should be handled by them, not the sheriff or other local law enforcement.

Leis said he took it upon himself to send the letter because he was concerned about information he and Cincinnati's police chief had received from federal authorities.

It certainly sounds to me that we KNOW when they plan to attack.

Me too.

Well that's nice.

All together now, say, "Cheese."

A good opportunity for a photo op.

Isn't that special? A nice little outing.

I think I turned 12 shades of orange when I read that one.

What the HECK?

Dutch home of Bigley's brother "raided"
Sat 2 October, 2004 00:10

LONDON (Reuters) - Dutch armed intelligence officers have raided the Amsterdam home of Paul Bigley, brother of Liverpool engineer Kenneth Bigley who is being held hostage in Iraq, the Independent has reported.

It said they seized Bigley's computer and interrogated him about links with the group holding his brother captive.

They forced him to make a five page statement and sent information from his computer hard disc to London for analysis, said Saturday's Independent, which quoted neighbours of Bigley.

Neither the Foreign Office nor Paul Bigley were immediately available for comment.

I agree with that definition of traitor (tongue-in-cheek and seriously). It is sad that it has come to this in the free republic that is our nation.
