The Threat Matrix

The title refers to a daily report given to the president of the United States detailing the most serious terrorist threats against the country. To tackle those threats, the government has formed a top-notch task force to infiltrate the terror cells and cut off the danger.

"Every morning, the president receives a list of the top ten terrorist threats - this list is known as the threat matrix."

We here at FR are trying to be in conjunction with the daily reports around the world that involve threats. We try to provide a storehouse of information that takes hours of research.

This September 11 marks the third unforgettable anniversary of the worst mass murder in American history.

After September 11, many in the Muslim world chose denial and hallucination rather than face up to the sad fact that Muslims perpetrated the 9-11 terrorist acts and that we have an enormous problem with extremism and support for terrorism. Many Muslims, including religious leaders, and "intellectuals" blamed 9-11 on a Jewish conspiracy and went as far as fabricating a tale that 4000 Jews did not show up for work in the World Trade Center on 9-11. Yet others blamed 9-11 on an American right wing conspiracy or the U.S. Government which allegedly wanted an excuse to invade Iraq and "steal" Iraqi oil.

If you see the flas light from anuke how close would that mean its proximity is?

When I was watching Allawi/Bush conference, CSpan was picking up alot of aircraft noise, even Allawi looked up, wonder what that was?

I've scared myself today too, you know I'm no alarmist but reading between the lines of all today's news and the 'feel' of things I do believe this is dire my friend

I've had FNC on all day from 6:30am and they say the chatter and info is coming in at an 'alarming' rate Ridge doesn't quite know what to do

I am not much of a terrorist, but if I were. I'd be looking to hit a nuke plant west of the east coast to maximize nuclear fallout.

With respect to bio or dirty bomb, I think it will be a "burn'em if ya gott'em situation." That is, once assembled and in place, it will be blown. (Risk of detection too high to wait too long).

Islamofacists do want to strike to try to effect election. They really do believe it would be in their interest. In addition, it is critical to show that George Bush is wrong, and that we are not more same. I'd be genuinely shocked if they did not strike. If they do not, I would feel pretty darn good about our security.

A few other ideas come to mind. A massive strike on election day or the eve might effect the election results. In fact, a strike in a state crucial to Ohio, for example, could effect the election outcome if voters do not or cannot reach the polls. Interestingly, a strike in DC does nothing for the electoral count, whereas a strike in NYC on the eve or day of might actually through the state to Republicans, as NYC would be unable to vote. (Imagine the political firestorm created by such a strike. Dems and Rep. would fight about voters rights and the need to have new election etc?)

If I were in charge of Al-Q, I would plan any major strike I could for the about 15 minutes before the transfer of power if Kerry wins. Bush people still in, Kerry people not on the job, the possibility for anarchy in the power transfer would be very interesting.

I expect this Thread to heat up in the coming weeks, and while I have played the pessimist or optimist (I have doubted many threat/date predictions), I do believe we will here from the Islamofacists before the end of November 2.
