Retired Maj. General Hodges, Killian's supervisor at the Grd, tells ABC News that he feels CBS misled him about the documents they uncovered. According to Hodges, CBS told him the documents were "handwritten" and after CBS read him excerpts he said, "well if he wrote them that's what he felt."

Pity someone has to win.
I think it is FBI time. There have been several laws broken, FCC laws, slander, fraud, forgery of official government documents, election tampering....
Clearly, something the FBI would want to jump on.
I think ABC is enjoying this 'death by a thousand cuts' to Dan Rather and the CBS News team.
Reading Hodges' comments I believe he was misconstrued, is mad about it, and is clever himself...
Oh that's rich-they can't be trusted because they are voting for George W Bush, but Dan rather is above reproach and to be taken at his word even though he raises money for the Democrats and makes appearnces at their fund raisers. He's above question,in his mind, because he's-Dan Rather, standard bearer of the lamestream media!!!! I can't believe the arrogance and hypocrisy of this!
Here's a bizarro theory: Andy Rooney set up Dan Rather... they had a fight over who was more biased and Andy just had to get even. He should have used that Underwood he keeps on his desk, but he got lazy and had a staffer use MSWord. Fire them both!
"I bet there is a ton of dirt on him somewhere, please someone find it."
The dirt on Barnes is already widely discussed, even if 60 minutes decided to ignore it.
From the little I've heard, he's a MAJOR Kerry fundraiser, we're talking hundreds of thousands of dollars, he was NOT Lt. Gov. of Texas when he claimed he boosted Bush for the spot in the Guard, he was involved in some lottery scandal (no details known by me, maybe it was only a kerfuffle), he is on record, UNDER OATH, with an opposite story to the one he just told to 60 minutes, his daughter has voluntarily made the rounds with the radio hosts refuting his recent statements and saying he's doing it to promote his planned book.
I'm only repeating what I've heard, I can't personally vouch for the veracity of any of these statements. There, I'm a better man than Dan Rather, and I am just a girl.
CBS won't be able to withstand the heat.
The only thing Old Media have to sell the public is legitimacy. CBS just lost it.
Nothing will happen over this. Nothing.
I sent it to drudge, as I sure many of us have.
The time for CBS to come clean was immediately upon realizing that they had likely been duped by a hoaxer. Yep. Now they are part of perpetrating the hoax. Cue Marvin the Martian... there's going to be a media-shattering KABOOM. |
Well said, Petronski!
Just in case you didn't see this, take a look.
Is there any question CBS was complicit in this and not duped? I think not.
That Dan Rather thought he could get away with this suggests, to me anyway, that he's been getting away with similar lies for years, and having gotten away with it, has become more and more brazen and careless.
