Looking west, across the WTC site from Church Street, at the World Financial Center |
|
Entering the "pit" - site of the ceremony. |
Damaged buildings to the immediate south (Liberty Street), including the soon to be demolished Deutsche Bank Building. |
Closer view of still-damaged buildings. |
"Rap mogul" Russell Simmons lives on the top floor of the building in the center and has put a series of anti-war & anti-Bush signs in the windows facing the WTC site, to the dismay of other residents. Classy guy. |
Two losers with their Bush-hating signs at the memorial service just outside of the WTC site. At least they had the decency to remain silent during the ceremony. |
WTC #7 being (re)built! |
Scroll up if you want to see a few photos I took from just outside the WTC site this morning, during the memorial ceremony.

HellinaHandCart, thought you might like the NYC GOP Chick's photos in reply #413.
For the first time, I had to explain the significance of today to my four-year-old daughter, my only child.
She wanted to know why Mommy and Daddy were so sad when we watched some of the memorial services.
I tell you, that was damn hard.
