Well, I would say everything I needed to know about radical Islam. Sadly, there are far too few, based on their own lack of denunciation, who are not inclined to be radical.

That's but one reason why I don't buy into the "religion of peace" apologia. From what I've seen, the terrorists and their sympathizers are the mainstream; the peaceful Muslims are the fringe.

Speaking of which, where the devil did anyone get this "religion of peace" nonsense? The very word "Islam" means submission, not peace. And there ain't nothing peaceful about being forced to submit.

The relgion, unless you happen to be living in a country completely subjugated and controlled by it...had never been a religion of peace. It has been one of war and conquer.

Even in those areas wholly controlled by it, it is one of coersion, intimidation, and tyranny.

Moderates have to escape those areas and come to places like America, and then not live according to the strict tennants of the Koran, if they want to live peacefully (IMHO) with their neighbors.

Many have done that...many more would like to I believe. In Iraq there are millions who want to...and a few hundred thousand who want to hold the sword over their heads while we try and help the most couragous build their own Republic and freedom. Hard work of freedom for sure.

I'm not so sure we have that many moderates here. Last I saw, the Canadians caved to Sharia law in Canada...and we've got Muslims insisting that hospitals do away with the surgical gowns that patients get and conform to the ridiculous prohibitions of the Quran. (Imagine how big it'd go over if we went over to an Islamic country and insisted they bend to our wants. Hoo-whee.)

He has most certainly taken the fight to those animals, hasn't he? And the naysayers of that poicly reveal themselves with their howlings.

D@mnit! Every time I revisit these memorials I lose it. But every time, I am more strongly recommitted to our just cause I wish to God that I was young enough to enlist.

The people of this country must be reminded of what they did to us.

Our family prays for our President every day. That He would grant him perserverance and courage. The price of freedom is eternal vigilance!

...and the blood of tyrants and patriots.

God bless and guide us as we continue to take the fight to these animals.

Never again

Islam must be destroyed.

Jeff, thank you for this powerful memorial. Every time I get on a plane, as I did this morning, I look around at the other passengers as we wait to board. I'm trying so hard not to "profile". One benefit of looking around at other passengers, though, is seeing young, clean-cut, short-haired men who invariably take an aisle seat. Maybe I'm just trying to make myself feel a little more secure, but I'm always glad to see them, even if they may not be what I think they are.

My beloved Marine son-in-law who was at the Pentagon on that terrible day, pulling the dead and injured out of the burning building, is now on his way to Iraq aboard the USS Essex. He's been champing at the bit to go - feeling that he has not yet done his part in the war against terrorism.

How can so many people have already forgotten this atrocity? How is it that the media loves to refer to this as a "tragedy", as they label the murder of children at Beslan a "tragedy"!

I hope this weekend will renew a wake-up call to all who have become complacent. We are safer than we were before 9/11, but we are not going to be completely secure from these savages in our lifetime.

Thank you for that moving post.

I have a son-in-law who is into his A_Training in the Navy. He's anxious to be a part to and we are proud of him.

His wife (our oldest daughter) and two of our grandchildren are staying with us until they can get slotted into base accomodations with him.

...I only wish I were young enough myself.

Jeff, on Sept 11 I saw the 2nd plane fly into the tower. I was watching Fox. I was in shock. I am from NJ, just 20 mi south of NYC. I immediately went to FR and tried to aswer questions from the cubicle bound. I felt like I had witnessed the murder of my family. THEN the towers went down. Unbelievable! There was a reporter (female) on the street just below the towers and she had her mike on while screaming and running, "Oh my God, Oh my God they're falling, Run, Run, oh my God! And then the Cloud and the people running. People jumping out of the building and my beloved county has been attacked in a clear declaration of war!! I was furious, angry beyond anything I had ever felt. The tears ran from my eyes, I was not aware of crying, the tears just flowed as they did when my young beautifulson died. They flowed for days.

Today I watched a linked memorial and I cried harder, was more infuriated and filled with an impotent rage. I am sadder now, more angry now and cannot immagine having
John Kerry in the WH. We really would be doomed.

Thank you for that very moving and heart felt testimonial.

Please take a look at the stories in the right-hand pull-down memo at the site referenced in this thread...The Attack on America Site. I know you will be moved by them.

God bless...and may we never forget!

"We must never forget."

To that end, I played the HBO show, "In Memoriam: 9/11" for all three of my college classes today. This is an excellent CD. It doesn't sugar-coat anything. It does confine itself to NYC and not the Pentagon or Pennsylvania, but it shows the plane hits (many times, from different angles), the falling bodies, and the people waving flags out the windows. The widow of Terry Hatton, a FDNY chief, is particularly moving.

The students were transfixed. My first two classes are almost entirely males, and I sat in the back, so I didn't see a lot of wincing or covering of faces. But in my last class, which is 50% females, I could tell many were just shocked. I don't know if they had not seen this before, or if they just forgot. I don't think ANY of them will have a problem figuring out why we are in Iraq.

God bless you for truly educating those kids. I wish to God we had more who would do so. But it will be enough, there is a higher authority presiding over all of this, and He will ensure that the right prevails.
