I was waiting for someone else to say if first. My first thought on hearing the voice was that he had been crying, I even told my wife that I suspected it. Most men don't cry unless under EXTREME stress and the voice never sounds the same until at least one night of sound sleep is had. Rather probably did not sleep all night last night, he may have also been involved in multiple shouting sessions.
