Didn't I hear Tony Snow or someone say the Whitehouse is having experts from the military and somewhere else checkout the document?
I would assume this work is pretty well done since they've had it for a while.
I think the President has a libel case here. Falisfying documents is beyond the extended free speech protections that apply to public figures, I seem to recollect. In addition -- there may be criminal federal statutes that apply to to the falsification of federal records.
