I guess then the question becomes, did the author of the forgeries select the kerning option? I have read elsewhere that document experts, having examined the memos, found no evidence of kerning. I think the points made about kerning in this thread and elsewhere are moot.

Interestingly enough CBS' "defense" pointed to repeated copying and recopying as a serious source of change that could be dealt with only if we had the original documents.

This suggests that CBS does not have the originals AND they themselves have identified characteristics in the test that would not have existed given the technology used to produce the originals.

Kerning is not yet a moot issue ~ it may well be the only issue and you better believe it's going to be highly relevant in the various lawsuits CBS initiates against the folks who set them up ~ this sort of stuff drives out good paying advertisers you know.
