CBS NEWS executives have launched an internal investigation into whether its premiere news program 60 MINUTES aired fabricated documents relating to Bush's National Guard service, the DRUDGE REPORT has learned.

I "strongly" (yukyuk) disagree that this is the perp. Strong, having been in the ANG at that time, would have gotten the military formats right. Personally, I think this was some liberal who hadn't a clue about the military.

It's been 30+ years. He's probably forgotten exact military formats, if he ever knew them. I was in the AF for 4 years, and I had no idea all these details about the "correct" form of this or that.

Granted, if he was an office guy, he should have known. But I've forgotten lots of details about technical things I did years ago.

One time a guy showed me a computer program in a strange language (MIIS - a form of the MUMPS medical programming language) that I had written 20 years ago. I couldn't even decipher what it was doing, and I wrote it.

We all know Big Media is leftist. There is nothing new here. It is a great gotcha moment and I am loving every single post, and in reality I think it is bigger than Watergate but do not expect hearings like Watergate, do not expect criminal prosecutions like Watergate, and do not expect a major shift in the political landscape like Watergate. All of those things should happen but I doubt they will. These are forged documents and even the charge is lame in my opinion, having worked with Reserve pilots for years.

The poll numbers will shift in Bush's favor (at least at a faster rate) as a result of this news, but the polls were already heading in his favor. I have been predicting a Bush landslide for months. The polls always move to the right as the summer ends and the Republican always gets more votes than the polls indicate. I guess this is why I am a bit subdued in my joy. It is fun to watch but Nov 1994 was a much bigger thrill.
