Just Asking (vanity)

Just asking...

John Kerry's discharge papers from 1978 (as posted on his website) were typed with proportional type and justified right-hand margins.

Was this common on official Navy discharge papers from 1978?

That is a printed form with only the name and rank of the person receiving the discharge typed in

in 1978 you may have been a little closter to some word processing machines. In fact when I joined the navy in 1981 we were using peach text as a database program and word star as a document processor so maybe in the very late 70's but 72 come on now the technology wasn't even there..

Besides Kerry's website had forged Silver Stars by John Lehman so I would doubt anything that the Kerry camp posted.

Interesting line of thinking.

If "somebody" is out there forging documents, and we already know there are discrepancies in documents that Kerry has published...maybe a closer look should be taken at his other documents.

Not me, LOL!

But I appreciate the good work of others. I'm too busy getting ready for another hurricane to be a sleuth, but it's been so interesting the last couple of days, I have to check in to FR whenever I walk past the computer.

I just painted my car like the Scooby Doo "Mystery Machine".
Now I need to get a hot redheaded chick named Daphne to ride with me.

I tried duplicating it - no go, at least not as easily as duplicating the fake Bush memos.

- Uses apparently real Navy letterhead.
- Font is not common modern font.
- Hyphenated word is uncommon today.
- Looks like standard form, filled in with a crummy old typewriter.
