Black conservative pingIf you want on (or off) of my black conservative ping list, please let me know via FREEPmail. (And no, you don't have to be black to be on the list!)
Extra warning: this is a high-volume ping list.

"Cosby's comments amount to plain and simple common sense," said Project 21 member Michael King.
Nosey question:
Are you the Michael King in the article?

I saw a part of his comments: by being better parents, we'll make better Americans and put the prisoners out of business, to paraphrase. This applies across the board; it goes beyond race. We all need to listen.

I know that white male conservatives like me are supposedly the root cause of all malais in the black community, but truly, there are few things that would make me happier than seeing the black community claim their rightful place as productive and prosperous members of American society.
I'm afraid it will take even more decades than it already has, but I'm hopeful it will happen thanks to people like Project 21.

By refusing to acknowledge real problems, the 'leaders' dropped that mirror, shattering the dreams of many still trapped - by choice or circumstance -... That's because as long as people are dependent upon the likes of Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton, they stay in power. Somene needs to tell Jesse that keeping a family on welfare for four (4) generations is no way to "keep hope alive." What's the chance that Bill Cosby will join Don King and endorese President Bush?

It's nice to hear Cosby's family-oriented common sense here. He's becoming quite a statesman--one that is much needed in the community--on the issue.
