A Way Of Life
Read: Colossians 3:5-9
Do not let the sun go down on your wrath. Ephesians 4:26
Bible In One Year: Proverbs 8-9; 2 Corinthians 3
How did everything get so dirty so fast?" I grumbled as I dusted the glass tabletop. "I had the whole house clean a month ago."
"Cleaning is a way of life, not an event," my husband responded.
I know he's right, but I hate to admit it. I want to clean the house once and have it stay that way. But dirt doesn't surrender that easily. Speck by speck, the dust returns. Piece by piece, the clutter piles up.
Sin is like the dust and clutter in my house. I want to eliminate all of it with one prayer of confession and repentance. But sin doesn't surrender that easily. Thought by thought, bad attitudes return. Choice by choice, un-pleasant consequences pile up.
The apostle Paul told the believers in Colosse to get rid of "anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy language" (Colossians 3:8). And he told the church at Ephesus, "Be angry, and do not sin: do not let the sun go down on your wrath" (Ephesians 4:26).
Christ's death and resurrection eliminated the need for daily sacrifice. But confession and repentance are still essential to the Christian's daily life. Getting rid of such things as anger, rage, and malice is a way of life, not a one-time event. Julie Ackerman Link
We're thankful, Lord, that when we fall
We can begin anew
If humbly we confess our sin,
Then turn and follow You. Sper
The best eraser in the world is an honest confession to God.

Here is my contribution.
Three Years Later
Its been three years since we all saw,
The sneak attack unfold.
The cowards killed the innocent,
But fear did not take hold.
We mourned the lost and then set out,
To stop these creatures vile.
We knew the fight would not be quick,
No this would take a while.
Yes just three years have passed since then,
But many have forgot.
They think that we should just come home,
They do not think a lot.
Some say, Respond if were attacked,
They did not learn a thing.
If we sit back and wait again,
More horrors it will bring.
We cant forget, we cant back down,
We must maintain our stand.
Yes, Nine Eleven happened here,
Not in some foreign land.
Please pray for peace and for our troops,
For freedom they do fight.
The Lord will guide us through this all,
If we follow His Light.

Good morning, Aqua. I've been waiting or this post as I knew it would be awesome. You didn't let me down.
I'm flying to New Orleans tomorrow. Going to take a long weekend to visit my sisters there, returning on Tuesday.
Several have asked why I want to travel by plane on 9/11. I say it's because 'I REMEMBER' and I have faith in our Homeland Security.
Will be back later to read more. Have a fabulous Friday, everyone.

Absolutely breathtaking (((((((Aqua)))))) and ((((((Bob))))). Three years later and the wounds are still just as fresh. The graphics and poetry that you two have put together leaves me both awe-inspired and devastated.
(((((HUGS))))))) to all at the Finest. In remembrance of that awful day three years ago, yet still so close in memory, I want to share my poetic offering from last year:
~ ~ ~Where Were You?~ ~ ~
Where were you when the sky rained down liquid fire and lost souls; when the air billowed poison, when sirens wailed and cries echoed urgently and painfully? Never forget....
Where were you when, with a thunderous roar, monsters of steel and glass crumbled to the earth belching black gaseous clouds as thick and as dark as satan's cloak? Never forget....
Where were you when eerie silence fell like winter's first snowfall; when voices and spirits were stilled forever in unadorned and involuntary graves? Never forget....
Where were you when satan's children laughed and danced in streets of candy while families mourned eternal emptiness, longing for just one last chance to say, "I love you?" Never forget....

Georgia Whitkin (sp?) was on Fox and Friends this morning. She had interviewed some visitors at Ground Zero earlier this week. She talked about how traumatic even talking about that day still was, and should be.

Such a beautiful and touching tribute to remember this black and tragic day. Thank you, Aqua and NnB. And, thank you, dansangel, for posting your "Where Were You?" poem. I am typing through tears.
I will spend this day in prayer for the families of the victims of 9/11, for our brave men and women who are answering the call to face this evil on the battlefield, and for the families of our servicemen and women who have made the ultimate sacrifice and given their lives fighting terrorism.
Words fail me, so I will instead post this graphic that I found last year at this time.....
Amen.

Miss Aqua ... a beautiful tribute you have offered us in memory of that terrible day three long years ago ... thank you.
The pic of the stone slab memorial in the Pennsylvania field evokes both pride and sorrow.
I've been watching FOX this morning, lounging and lazy after a week of hard work ... when they played a few minutes of video showing the attacks and their aftermath, it felt like an old wound starting to bleed again and I woulda started weeping if I weren't so derned tough.
May God Bless the United States of America and bring defeat and ruin to all the enemies of freedom and liberty.
