The nationally disseminated story based on forged military records was nothing less than an attempt to undermine the President in the midst of war and change the election result with a stunning fraud on the electorate. Whoever created those records, ala the infamous Dreyfus Affair, absolutely intended to deceive the American people and defeat our President. Even this morning there remains a chance they will succeed.
Could there be a clearer act of treason than to undermine the President and nation during war, and to do it by sowing doubt about the President's respect for the military chain of command?
We are all assuming the media, the democrats, are going to suffer enormous embarrassment on this. That is most definitely not in their plan.
How many false stories have come and gone without their truthful exposure ever getting the coverage given the lies? Abu Grahib dominated the news for months, they tried to force the Secretary of Defense to resign, they accused the highest echelons of government. Now the true story is exposed as an isolated wimper, and they are letting it die as a wimper. Indeed, they are still perpetrating the original fictions about Abu Grahib just under the radar of the top headlines.
We're heading into the weekend. CBS will attempt to muddy or retract the story during a slow news cycle when the country is not paying attention. Too many democrats, up to the Kerry Campaign, the DNC Chair, Senators, etc., are heavily invested in this fraudulent version of President Bush's service. The left wing media will NEVER put the egg on those faces.
Who plotted to overthrow our leaders with these vile forgeries? Was there foreign involvement? Maybe our outright enemies or "Allies" like the French? Did John Kerry, or the Clinton forces, or the corrupt McAuliffe DNC try to steal this election by forging records of our nation's military?
The left media and the democrat machine attempted a widespread act of treason and treachery against our people and soldiers on the eve of election. They are not going to come clean on this. They are going to dissemble and they are going to try and confuse the issue of their attempted coup de tat by continuing to say that the allegations of the forgeries may be true.
This cannot stand, or our Republic cannot stand. How dare they talk about illegitimate elections! They have just struck a dagger blow at the heart of our democracy. Those responsible must be brought to justice. We can be certain they do not plan on being exposed, indeed they do not plan on abandoning their plot.
The attempt is to discredit the "FREE PRESS" that we love so dearly.
At the very least, the people of Iowa should be demanding Tom Harkin's resignation from the Senate after his performance yesterday...

THIS is what we should be writing to every newspaper that is dragging its feet on this story - there is a direct assault going on our President and it might be motivated by foreign governments, and we want to know NOW~~~!!!!!!!!
The key to it is this . . . we've got some geniuses running around on Free Republic and they've learned how to by-pass the MSM. It might even be better for our conservative cause if the MSM'ers don't say another word about it . . . because the seed has been planted, and planted damn deep. We've known for a long time that the MSM'ers are nothing but mouthpieces for the tree-hugging libbers. Now, the common Joe is learning that. Now, the common Joe is being swept up into the political process.
This whole fiasco has motivated the entire conservative base to take action . . . and it's also swung many, many of the middle-of-the-roaders to our side of the slate.
I just finished having breakfast with several politically-active pastors. They're trying to set up some kind of local organization that'll take all the rancor out of politics. Good luck, right. LOL.
Anyway . . . one of these pastors is from a predominately black church that predictably leans toward the libbers. This pastor was incensed by this entire episode. He's not 100% convinced the documents are frauds yet . . . but he's way over 50% convinced. He's meeting me here, at my home, in thirty minutes. I'm going to sign him up to Free Republic, show him the ropes, then leave the room and turn him loose so he can see all the evidence himself.
I suspect there's many, many others like him who are for the first time starting to see the National Democrapic Party for what it is . . . they only have one credo. WIN AT ALL COSTS!
Some of my best friends are true Democratic Party patriots. We disagree on most things . . . but they're salt-of-the-earth folks who truly believe in the liberal party platform -- more government is good, less immigration restrictions, tree-hugging environment policies, etc. But they're as disgusted by what they see on the National level of their own party as I am.
This last fiasco might've just pushed them over the edge. Texas politics is a full-contact sport, that's true . . . but lying about a National Texas politician, especially about their military service, ain't taken lightly by other "regular" Texans. Even by those it would appear to benefit. It's the "I can whack my own brother upside the head . . . but woe be unto the outsider who tries to whack him upside the head."
I hear Ben Barnes and the other libber hatchet-men associated with this story are having to hide out to escape the wrath of their fellow Texans. Luckily for Dan Rather, he's already hiding out in New Yawk.
So don't worry . . . FReepers like yourself will figure out ways to get the TRUTH out to the regular Joes.
