And for reference, heres my image where the original PDF document from the CBS News site is overlaid on my Microsoft Word document, showing the exact match of line spacing, character spacing, and character forms:
For verification purposes, and to show that I played no tricks with spacing or margins, here is the Microsoft Word document that I created.
Since several people have commented on the one noticeable mismatchthe slightly lower th in 187thI should point out that this difference goes away when the Word document linked above is printed. My screenshot shows the screen display in Microsoft Word, compared to the printed document from CBS News. When you print my Word document, the superscript th exactly matches the CBS News document.
A grifter depends on a victim's greed in order for his confidence scheme to work. In the case of these obvious forgeries, only a liberal newsroom's "greed" for something - - anything - - that they could use to smear Bush could allow them to fall for this fraud.
I saw a couple crosslinks to the image somewhere on one of those blogs. The same thing needs to be done for all four documents. That image is from Document 1 and I think the other guys have matched document 3.
Great graphic. Good job.
Finally, Yahoo news is reporting the story IF you read a paragraph criticizing Bush's skills as a pilot and scroll down to the next paragraph.

"You know I gotta believe CBS knew there was something funny about that document, but just didn't care."
So right. Since it put GWB in a bad light, it does not matter if they are forged or not!
DAN CANT HANDLE THE TRUTH
Dan Rather is the undisputed head pooh-bah of the news division at CBS. Rather has spent 40 years solidifying his position. His former colleague Bernard Goldberg reports that Mr. Rather is extremely sensitive to criticism from any source. In his book "Bias," Mr. Goldberg quotes CBS News President Andrew Haywood: "Dan can't distinguish between mainstream criticism and criticism coming from the extremists. It's all the same to him." Goldberg writes that in the 1980s there was a vice president at CBS whose unofficial title was "vice president in charge of Dan Rather. "His main job was keeping Dan Rather happy." Little wonder, then, that CBS News refuses to acknowledge the liberal bias that is a staple of CBS News. No one can get through to Dan Rather. He is impervious to criticism.

This incident may even prompt them to tell the truth on occasion.
I wouldn't bet on the latter.
"What did Kerry know, and when did he know it?"
Seems to me that as the Kerry Camp was floating the same exact points a month or so before this hit 60 Minutes, that they might be behind it. To me this is a story of Watergage proportion. Funny how the media seems to be not giving the weight to it that it deserves.
