In a much hyped story, CBS features a partisan hack with a long and shady record and produces forged documents.

This has a couple of very good things for President Bush:

1. It will pretty much settle the issue of his guard service. People will remember that CBS tried to smear President Bush with forged documents.
2. This and hurricane Ivan will dominate news for several days. Not much time left for Kerry.
