Very much like CNN's nerve gas/Laos deserter camp story of a few years ago. That hoax was the centerpiece of a new show, and the Pulitzer-chasing producer probably to this day claims it was all true. Peter Arnett made a cad of himself, claiming he was just the script reader and hadn't worked on the story. That destroyed him.
We used to watch Rather instead of fumbling Brokaw and snide Jennings ("some Presidents do it better than others..."), but several months ago we realized Rather was no longer trustworthy or objective. "The news from Afghanistan is good, however..." or "There is positive news on the jobless front, but..." So, it's almost always Fox now.

yes, I watch Fox too, but some of their programming has been disheartening. I absolutely hate it when Rita Cosby comes up with all her supposed "Exclusives!" Oh well. I guess nothing is perfect! :)
