I am speechless. This entire thing has snowballed to the point where there should be criminal investigations of CBS, 60 MInutes, and others. I feel like I'm actually -part- of the news, instead of just reading about it. I can't keep up with all the threads and comments and new facts and opinions coming out every second.

But one thing I do know...I'd never have known about all this to such an extent if it weren't for FR.

God Bless ya, Jim. :-) And to all my FReeper brethren. I may never meet any of you in person, but I am proud to call you friends.

I feel the same way.

And for the life of me, I don't understand why Jim won't buy us our own TV station!

It's so true. I've been riding this story all day, too. Wow!

Biggie:

I have been here since 1998, when I found this haven of sanity. I believe somewhere along the line I stated that FreeRepublic would eventually become a bulwark against the tyranny of the MSM and the left, on behalf of the democrat party. It would appear that my prophesy is coming true, and I, like you, thank Jim Robinson and the "family" here. We are a "thin grey line" in the defense of America against enemies foreign and domestic. And I believe there is little doubt now that the democrat party - and its institutional adherents - are the barbarians at the gate.

Amen. And good on all y'all FReepers.

Before hightailing it out of DC, I was a policy wonk, working with some big names on behalf of the 'little people.' Some of the policy issues I covered were the Internet and political participation. But what these wonks really wanted was to tell people what they should read and what was authoritative (particularly how MSM was going to create and maintain control of online news), with the result being that everyone would just 'naturally' come to agree on what was right (as long as it was left, of course)

It just thrills me to see outlets such as FR standing the wonks and the MSM on their ears. Almost everything they thought about the Net was wrong. The only thing they got right was their fear that power would be in the hands of the people.

Wow I am amazed at the power of this website, absolutely amazed. It was our FReepers who broke this story and this story will bring CBS and Kerry to their knees. The public doesn't like these type of scandals. And once the investigation traces it back to the Kerry campaign. It will be completely over for the dems.

Al Gore didn't think of this when he invented the Internet....unintended consequences.
