Who has declared these memos to be forgeries? Freepers, or some official source?

At this stage, just about the entire world. Of course, FReepers started it all, but you can now find expert testimony referenced in many threads.

What do you mean by 'official source', anyway?

Yes, of course.

President Bush would forge documents that cast aspersions on his character and credibility because he's running for a second term as President.

I'm sorry, maybe it's just me, but I can't figure for the life of me how AP is going to "nuance" this to exonerate CBS and Ratherbiased.

In this context, I would call an "official source" the White House, Pentagon, AP, Washington Post, or any other news agency that would prefer the documents NOT be forgeries.
