You ARE right - but succeeding in punishing CBS is extremely difficult if not impossible. What we need is a Justice Department case file against CBS for creating or aiding and abetting in the creation and/or use of falsified federal documents. Unfortunately, CBS is so full of attorneys who spend all their time defining what the meaning of "is" is, they are busy right now figuring out how to deflect any charges and responsibility for these crimes. VIACOM needs to fire Dan Rather because he has the power to say yea or nay on any story that he does and he full well knows how to make sure his stories will hold up to scrutiny. Next VIACOM needs to shake-up the leadership of CBSNews and put out a full page NYT ad apologizing for this incident and promising to present a more balanced coverage of politics in the future.

Not that they will - the attorneys will keep this tied up and locked down for ever. That's what they were hired to do.
