Didn't the Globe story today say that Bush's ANG unit had only two F-102's left? If so, that doesn't sound like enough to go around for all the guys who were trained to only fly that specific plane.

Two F-l02's with all the pilots coming back from Nam were not enough not to mention the F-102 was getting sent to the boneyard and being taken out of the inventory. As a member of the Guard, he could say he wouldn't want to transition to a new plane and he would be off flying status and the need for a flying physical was mute.
