Something to Yak About – Kerry To Highlight Iraq Flip-Flop
The Gang That Couldn’t Spin Straight at the John Kerry campaign is apparently counseling the Gentleman from Massachusetts to pick-up the issue of removing Saddam Hussein from power, drawing yet more attention to his incessant flippage and floppage on the Iraq war. The New York Times reports Kerry is scheduled to deliver a speech today at a Cincinnati train station, “where Bush laid out his own argument, nearly two years ago, that Saddam Hussein was amassing large stockpiles of weapons of mass destruction and might soon be able to strike the United States.” Want to take a look at the symbolism behind this appearance that won’t be reported on network TV tonight? Read on…

Kerry Warns of Saddam’s WMD ‘Miscalculation’
Back when John Kerry said he believed Iraqi madman Saddam Hussein had WMD and was ready to pull the trigger on them (that would be before Kerry falsely accused the president of misleading people on Iraqi WMD), Kerry was actually warning Americans about Saddam’s ability to engineer a WMD attack on the United States! It just so happens we have this prime cut from Sept. 15, 2002 and it’s just an e-mail reply away. So: John Kerry is going to launch an attack against President Bush on Iraq from the same place the president warned of the risk of Saddam’s WMD while Kerry was issuing the same warning less than two years ago. Smart move by the Kerry campaign? Not so much.

Globe Fails to ID Kerry Backer in Bush National Guard Hit Piece
A report in the Boston Globe tries yet again to parrot the Kerry campaign line on the president’s military service and quotes former DoD bigwig Lawrence Korb in its hit piece. But in their haste to boost a bogus argument disproved time and again over the years, the Globe abjectly fails to identify Korb as a big-time Kerry supporter who writes for an outfit calling itself the Center for American Progress, a Democrat front group which also supports Kerry. No liberal bias here, folks.

Kerry Rolls-Out Ben Barnes Boondoggle
Which is more persuasive, something said in a pitched partisan sphere or something sworn to under oath? The Kerry campaign is trotting out former Texas Lt. Gov. Ben Barnes to claim how ashamed he was of working with Bush family members to help the president get into the Air National Guard. But Kerry and the Gang That Couldn’t Spin Straight blew it again, this time failing to realize that Barnes has already sworn under oath that nobody in the Bush family approached him about it. So which assertion is true and which one is false?

Barnes Brings Big Bucks Into Kerry Camp
Lest you think Ben Barnes is just some guy whose conscience in wracked with guilt over the whole National Guard thing, check out John Kerry’s website. Turns out Barnes is a big-time fundraiser for Kerry’s White House ambitions. He’s a campaign vice-chair who’s bundled more than 100 grand for Kerry. No partisanship here folks…

The Flips Just Keep On Floppin’
And what the heck is up with John “Shotgun” Kerry? While it’s certain that West Virginia shotgun is not the one Kerry carried while crawling on his belly to hunt deer, it was apparently among those firearms covered in S. 1431, a gun control bill he voted in favor of last year. Here’s our best guess on this Double-Barreled Flip-Flop: Odd-Numbered-Year – Vote against the shotgun. Even-Numbered-Year – Accept same shotgun as gift from Big Labor Boss.

Talkers Profile – AnnMarie Petitto, Executive Producer, Ankarlo Mornings, KLIF/Dallas
“I'm from Wilkes-Barre, Pa., went to Penn State (PARTY!!), moved to Dallas in 1983. Worked for the Southwest Conference Radio Network/NCAA/CBS producing Texas college football and basketball broadcasts. Produced the national ‘Selection Sunday’ and ‘Eve of the Final Four’ call-in shows. Started at KLIF in 1988 as a part-time board operator and moved into producing.” (SOURCE: Ankarlo Dot Net)

Correction: Slash and Burn Author ID Requires Vowel Movement
When The Yak screws up, we take our lumps. Your Tuesday Yak incorrectly spelled the surname of the author of a book containing all sorts of wacky stuff about people named Bush. The author’s surname is properly spelled K-E-L-L-E-Y. The Yak regrets the dropped vowel.

The Final Yak
“Almost 7 million people have viewed the Kerry On Iraq documentary at kerryoniraq.com. The documentary was updated to include John Kerry saying he would vote for the war knowing what he knows today, but yesterday he went back to mimicking Howard Dean's anti-war rhetoric. There are 7 million people who truly understand the remarkable evolution (and back) of John Kerry's position on Iraq. Are you one of them?” (SOURCE: Republican National Committee Communications Director Jim Dyke, Sept. 7, 2004)
