Treason is not free, and Kerry hasn't paid nearly enough for what he did. I love the Swiftee ads so far, but I think we need a new one soon.
The MSM and the Kerry people are going after Bush's NG service. And the Texans for Truth ads (funded by Soros) are going to be targeted to Swing states and where there have been high casualties in the Iraq War.
I think the new ad should discuss Kerry's terribly wrong guesswork on a post-American involvement Vietnam. Kerry said at the most there would be 3,000 targeted assasinations of South Vietnamese and then everything would be fine.
My was he wrong. Dominoes fell, the Cambodian killing fields, re-education camps, millions of boat people and millions of dead. It was a bloodbath.
I think the Swiftees should then go to one of America's Little Saigons and show how the Vietnamese diaspora hates Kerry.
I might even include George S. Patton Jr's comment--"they don't make strong enough soap to wash the blood off John Kerry's hands."
I think this would be powerful. It would show that a large number of Viet Vets have nothing but contempt for Kerry and that the South Vietnamese survivors hate Kerry. That would kill any vestige of the "Kerry is a war hero" syndrome that is still out there.
And showing Patton Jr.(I hope there is video of that) son of an icon of American patirotism and toughness telling the truth about Kerry the Traitor is a deadly blow.
Another great thing about an ad like this is that it would show how wrong Kerry was about postwar Nam-- showing the human costs of his gross miscalculation would communicate that he isn't the guy we need at the helm right now. That coupled with outting his twenty years of miscalculation and shilling for the enemey in the Senate and his ongoing waffling vis a vis Iraq, Kerry would be cooked.
I don't know about this "we" stuff. I'm not a Swiftee. They can do what they want to do. So far, I'm impressed, but this is their deal.
hows about a reenactment of the pow's being taunted with kerry's testimony?
I wouldn't worry too much about the Texans for Truth. I saw the ad and it is about as impotent as it can get! The problem with the cRATS is that Bush's NG service has been fodder for years. There is no "there" there. One guy sitting around going, "Gee, I didn't see him." isn't very powerful. The Swiftee Ads are powerful because they are genuine --not drummed up out of desperation. As other people said, I don't know what this "we" is. The Swiftees and the POWs are the ones who were impacted by Kerry. Let them decide how they want tell their story.
They do make the point in Unfit for Command that millions died in the Communist purges that followed...something Kerry predicted would result in a few thousand deaths. That would make a pretty stunning ad.
Just keep the POW ad running. No need for anything else. Don't spend any more money on any other ad. Just run the heck out of it until every American can quote the script from heart.
The POW stuff is a good idea. I think Galanti's statement is really powerful.
I think they need to get across the narrative that Kerry faked medals to get out 243 days early, he slandered a generation of Amsrican heroes and gave aid and comfort to the enemy, he created the conditions that led to the worst possible outcome for the American military and citizenry and for our South Vietnmese allies and the region of SE Asia.
They have gotten much of that across, but there is still work to do.
Also showing how radical -- voting on killing American Senators and going on secret missions to mee the VC and NVA in Paris-- Kerry and his band of traitors got would be deadly effective. They need to get back on offense and find a way to reach even more people (especially independents and conservative democrats) than they already have.
We could have an ad of a Kerry re-enactment--show Kerry on his swiftboat pulling Teddy Kennedy from Chapa-however-you-spell-it.
I think satire can be very devastating so I think that scene out of the "Caine Mutiny" where Bogart is rolling those ball barrings in his hands could be adapted to Kerry very easily.
Definitely one that clearly outlines Kerry's failure to fulfill his committments to the Naval Reserves, and his illegal, treasonous meetings with the Communists in Paris while still in the Reserves.
hows about airing Kerry quotes about each military program he voted against?
or if you do the pow one, follow up with a modern quote about how he has said that he was proud of what he did - then cut to the wall...
one can use kerry quotes inre: Iraq WMD's, how bad Saddam was, etc followed by his "wrong war" sound bite...
I love that ad and I love the one talking about how he threw away his medals only to cynically reclaim them later to get elected.
I think discussing the human costs to the Vietnamese also gets us back to Iraq. He is saying how Bush misclalcualted and he could run a smarter war and on and on.
If people get wind of how off he was and how bloody it was for
the South Vietnamese, I think that's screw him too.
In essence, he slandered our soldiers, helped consign the South Vietnamese to communist tyranny and mass murder, was an instrument of torture against American soldiers and American POWS and now he is pounds his chest and says he's a hero like the Energizer Bunny pounds his drum. It ain't right and he has to pay.
I just tried to get on the Swifties website to donate and it is down. Anyone else having problems?
That absolutely needs to happen. This guy has to pay. Treason Is Not Free.
Oh crap. I'll go check.
I would hammer on the the fact that Kerry's treasonous acts helped extend the war by several years, at a cost of ten to fifteen thousand more American lives. Then near the end, have a roll call of those Swift Boat vets who died between the time of Kerry's congressional testimony and the end of the war while a VO intones how not all Swift Boat vets will have a say in this election.
Thanks for checking, but I rebooted and got in. I made another donation today. I'm going to keep doing this as long as they need them too.
